meh - Edit

Decent build a bowl Vegan options. If it were elsewhere in Colombia, I might be stoked that it has so many Vegan options, but here in the old city there's a lot of other things you can get that are probably better. I think even the crepes and waffles salad bar is probably better and a bit cheaper.

It's a make your own wrap/burrito/piza/salad bar - Edit

I got a vegetarian burrito for 13.900 COP (approx. 4.7 USD) here, so it's not cheap by Colombian standards. For that you select your own tortilla, fillings and sauce, so you have a lot of control over what goes into your food. My burrito turned out to be just ok (I should've picked another sauce, so my fault). You can replace the burrito with wrap, salad or pizza. They also serve a daily soup and juices.
The eatery was clean, service was quick and the ingredients looked fresh.

Great place to eat vegan in Cartagena - Edit

Great selection of healthy, delicious veggies, legumes, nuts, etc, to add to your wrap. They do have non-vegan options but as long as you know key words in Spanish (huevos, leche, queso, vagano...) they'll get that you're avoiding animal products and will warn you if something contains them. I got a wrap with this falafel-like patty, spinach, beans, quinoa, salsa, cucumbers, olives, avocados, almonds and sesame with a sesame dressing wrapped in a spinach wrap. Hearty, filling and delicious. With a bottle of water it cost just over $9.

Pros: Close to almost any hotel or area, Understand difference between vegan and vegetarian, Not cheap but not expensive either

Cons: None that I can think of

Nice but expensive - Edit

Place had good potential. It was expensive though... had a wrap, but could have eaten two. Staff was grumpy, but maybe they had an off day... you never know. Would eat there again because of the poor selection of veggie places in Cartagena.

Pros: build your own meal, lots of vegan items

Cons: price ... price ... price

Good marketing, disappointing food, bad service - Edit

Marketing: the place is well decorated. It presents itself as a healthy option and i guess that it is in a way. But it is disconcerting that a "healthy" place only has one vegetarian/vegan option (especially when the place has "VEGETARIAN" written in one of the walls.

Food: bad. Really poor. Doesn't look that fresh. and the only sauce was not spicy enough.

Service: terrible. The people that build the orders are not well trained so they ask you 20 times what you need and then they have to check again and again what goes in each order (the way that it works is similar to Subway). At the end, when they had to build the burrito, they were not able to. They had to unwrap it and wrap it again...

Pros: the idea

Cons: food, service

Subway style sandwich bar - Edit

This place was ok.

It sells sandwiches, wraps, salads and juices/smoothies.

Sandwiches are Subway-style - choose your bread and the fillings. Nice choice of 'toppings' like seeds and nuts, and dressings.

Helpful staff too, who speaks good EN and looks very cute. :)

USD 6 for a sandwich and USD 7.50 for a plate of veggie salad is a bit much though...

Note, entrance is not on Carrera 3 (as indicated by the address), it is on Calle 7.

Pros: Decent range of veg fillings, extras and

Cons: Bit expensive

good upperclass deli type restaurant - Edit

I went here for dinner a few days ago. The staff were really friendly & helpful with Little english. I told them i was vegan & they suggested that i try a wrap or vietamese type rolls or salad or soup. I opted for the wrap which was large & cost around 10000pesos & i had 7 or 8 fillings which were amazing. They had amazing salad bar with loads of choices like quinoa, chia seeds etc (see above)& fab juices. I paid 9500pesos for juice with spirulina in it, yes it was expensive but it was pure & well worth it. I really enjoyed this place & left feeling very satisfied. Oh ya they have a great choice of dressings aswell. Pity there arnt more places like this in columbia

Pros: easy to find & healthy food, safe area & clean restaurant, great variety of proteins for vegans

Cons: expensive

excellent for all - Edit

Easy for veggies, delicious for all. Lots of choices, and the freshest food we've had in a while. Crazy good drinks too. NOTE: entrance is around corner from address. Not cheap, but fine for the neighborhood. $10-15 per person (18-28.000 COP) with a drink as of Summer 2013.

Pros: variety, freshness, drinks

Cons: none

A lovely new cafe! - Edit

This is a really nice addition to the Cartagena scene! Perfect for lunch, where you can get a healthy sandwich, wrap, smoothie, or green juice. It's very clean, with friendly staff, and comfortable seating. Not really a dinner place (although you could). This is not located in the walled, Centro part of Cartagena, but in Boca Grande, which is a few minutes away. So, I guess, that would be the only down-side... it's slightly off the beaten path, although there are other things to see in that neighborhood. I had a great conversation with the owners... nice people! They are very health conscious and also interested in bringing value to the community in terms of not only healthy eating, but social and eco issues. I predict this place will be a big success, with other locations opening in the future!

Pros: excellent food, healthier than other local foods, friendly staff

Cons: slightly off beaten path

Cartagena's best location for healthy food!!!!! - Edit

Gokela is Cartagena's best spot for healthy food. The salads are delicious and you can create your own or chose from a wide selection. They also have wraps with a wide range of items to chose from- even speciality items like quinoa, chia, cranberry and much more. If your thinking something lite, the vietnamese rolls are excellent and packed with vitamin rich items. To top it off you can compliment your meal with a freshly extracted juice (unlike the common pulp water and sugar variations that are regularly sold in Cartagena), and smoothies made from greek low fat yogurt. If your feeling like you need energy, or memory assistance, protein boost, sleep, sex drive, or just about anything you can add one of their supplements. If your familiar with supplements they have spirulina, acai, gogi, noni, maca, green power, kava, chia, Canadian flax, bee pollen, St Johns wort... So needless to say, this is a great place to get healthy, enjoy the energy of good food, and in Cartagena- escape from the heavy local food. YOU WILL ENJOY, hence why they are constantly number 1 on Trip Advisor...

Pros: Excellent Food, Organic, Good Value
