I was visiting Lismore the other day and was craving something sweet, so popped in to Goanna Bakery ... there were so many delicious vegan options for me - I wasn't expecting it, and was really impressed.
When I first came to Lismore I was so happy with the huge amount of vegan options at Goanna, now there’s barely any and more meat on the menu and makes for a very unpleasant atmosphere having to smell bacon and other such corpses cooking.
I think this place is vegetarian as ive never seen any meat there, but there arent many vegan options.
There used to be 2 vegan pies, Indian and Moroccan, these flavours are no longer vegan and are now only vegetarian (were they ever actually vegan?). Now they buy in vegan pies which are made with spelt flour, so more like a "healthy" pie, which aren't very good. You can also get the same spelt pies at the health food shop down the road for about $1.50 cheaper.
There are a couple of vegan cakes available that are average and a piece of vegan lasagna which is pricey at $9.50.
Goanna Bakery always has a good range of vegetarian salads to select plus other vego lunch foods including some vegetarian pies, some gourmet sweet foods and breads. They have vegan options for many food items - ask before you purchase. Their quality of food can be a bit variable, ranging from exceptional to ho hum, but you can pretty much always rely on them having something vegetarian to eat for lunch.
Mostly vegetarian, but serves some fish. There are vegan pies (2) and many vegetarian pies, good salads, good choice. I would like there to be more vegan options, but it serves the dairy and egg as well.
