A nice little find - Edit
I visited here twice in one day. I had an oat milk iced latte and then a 'what the cluck' sandwich. Firstly, I think a vegetarian/vegan place adding an extra fee for plant milk is a little ridiculous - it cost me £4.30 for an iced latte once the extra oat milk fee was added. I noticed some sandwiches charged extra to switch out for vegan cheeze - why should we be charged extra for making an ethical choice?
Read moreThe sandwich was delicious although very very greasy. I found the eating experience not very enjoyable as it just was far too oily.
Would visit again but be mindful it is expensive. The sandwich and a can of pop was £10.

Lovely Bistro with friendly staff - Edit
This vegetarian café offers many vegan options or vegetarian options that can be made vegan (at times for an up charge). I had the vegan haggis with vegan cheese and a brownie similar to rocky road both were good. The staff is also very friendly!

Love this place. All veggie/vegan and a wide choice of hot and cold sandwiches plus salads and tasty sweet treats. Try the ‘Festival’ it’s life changing! Also the ‘Rock and Roll’ takes a sausage sarni to another level. Plus the Nanaimo bars (sorry if this is not the right spelling) are spectacularly good. Added bonus that the owners are just lovely people and so kind. Well worth a trip to Portobello, take your feast to the beach or there is a small sit in area. Go now, you won’t be disappointed I promise.

Tasty takeaway at the beach - Edit
Sandwiches were excellent. I had a veggie sandwich with grilled vegetables, pesto, and a hearty bread. My husband had a hot chicken and bacon sandwich. Both were perfect. We also had vegan chips that we had never tried before - cheese and onion - and a brownie. I wish we had known they also had milkshakes before we ordered. Some of the options looked amazing.

Tasty vegan brownies - Edit
We got a couple brownies and a truffle, and ate them sitting on the wall of the promenade looking at the beach. The biscoff brownie was particularly delicious.

Amazing Cafe for a Quick Lunch - Edit
Loads of really nice options for vegans, including soup, sandwiches, toasties and cakes. Friendly and welcoming staff. Only 1 table so better for takeout but we managed to sit in as quiet. Also all vegan things are slightly more expensive than veggie which was the only downside. But overall would absolutely recommend!

A vegan delight! - Edit
When you eat like a mountain goat, often your choices are limited in most places but not this place. They are small and MIGHTY. Their menu has many, many deliciously healthy plant based options and lots of cake options for when you run out of steam to make your own vegan bakes. Thank you 🙏 Genuinely lovely staff too 😊

A bit out of town but very close to the promenade where I sat and ate my delicious rhubarb flapjack and tea with soya milk. Just what I wanted after traveling up from England. They offer a wide range of vegan cakes, soup and lunch snacks.

Good little shop, so close to being vegan but not quite - Edit
First off, the vegan cheese toasties are amazing. They have decent vegan options, but it's a shame that they charge extra for plant milk. It seems unusual to do so in a cafe where a large amount of customers will be vegan. A couple instances of unnecessary dairy in things.

Delicious toasties, breakfast rolls and baked goods - Edit
This is my regular breakfast spot when I pop to visit my wee maw. Can't beat a Rock N roll (sausage, spinach and mayo, but I also add on bacon!), a latte and a slice of banana loaf for later. Also helps that the owner is so sweet and friendly - always kind to my mum who can be a bit of a handful.

Cute and colourful café - Edit
Small café located on Portobello High Street. There is only one small table in the place, so be prepared to take your food to go. I had the coconut milk porridge with fruit compote and seeds, which I really enjoyed. The serving wasn't massive, but it was still enough to set me up for the day. I really want to try the sriracha vegan melt on my next visit, the owner tells me it has been really popular so far!

Nice enough but quite expensive for what it is - Edit
A cute little cafe in Portobello. They have a variety of vegetarian and vegan options, with most of the options being vegetarian (I think). I bought two sandwiches and two brownies and it came to £18, which in my opinion is quite expensive. The brownie was delicious.
