If you want food that's a bit fancier than your usual burger and fries, Glück & Verstand is the place to go in Mannheim. They aren't as cheap as other places, but I think they're worth the money. (And I wouldn't call them expensive either.) Their menu changes from time to time, but there are always vegan options for starters, mains, and desserts.

Super gemütliche Location, in der man sich einfach total wohl fühlt. Es gab einige vegane Optionen zur Auswahl, ich hatte Schwierigkeiten mich zu entscheiden, da alles so lecker geklungen hat. Letztlich habe ich eine gute Entscheidung getroffen, das Essen war soooo so lecker, war mal was anderes und noch dazu nicht überteuert.

Food here is very delicious and always very special in taste, using seasonal and regional ingredients. It is NOT a cheap fast food - "much food for little money" place, but if you want home cooked special things - this is the place to go.
Read moreWe had an extraordinary desert with juniper-almond icecream and pancakes. It was delicious however a bit small. Great G&Ts and they are so friendly. You feel welcome and eat where people prepare food and care for a place with love.

Delicious food but portions could be bigger - Edit
The restaurant is very trendy and has a beautiful little outdoor area. The menu changes often and always has several vegan options, including desserts. The portions are not big enough to fill you up, especially regarding the high prices. Would recommend going there for lunch rather than dinner as the serving size at lunch seems to be bigger.
