Freed the Bees!

New Review:

Hooray! No Longer Serves Honey! Bee products are gone! Do bee careful though as they are willing to purchase animal abuse products by request.

Old review:

After my lame experience at the other east side juice bar I was so happy to find an alternative within walking distance in Echo Park. Thirty minutes on foot uphill in the heatwave I arrived. I jokingly asked if this vegan restaurant served honey. "We do".

[censored] all, what the hell is happening in the world of science that bees are losing their status as animals and people calling themselves vegans and their businesses vegan feel confident to do so while selling the product of animal exploitation, abuse and death?

Gimme a goddamned break please! There are plenty of plant based sweet things in the world. Eat those. Sell those. Leave the damned bees alone please!

BTW they no longer serve honey in anything. They had apparently bought a batch of locally made honey during the pandemic when a local person came in asking them to buy a batch to support first responders. But once the batch was finished they no longer purchased anymore and they have no products at all that contain honey.

Fantastic find, cute vegan café/store

Note: they do not serve honey in any of their products at all.

This is very similar to Besties Vegan Paradise in Silverlake, if Besties had a café. This place is very comfortable, very reasonable and the food was terrific.
We came here yesterday and I got the Italian sandwich and he got the chickpea tuna sandwich on gluten-free bread.
I am not proud. By the time Chandler got back to me and asked if I had taken photographs, my food looked like a savage wildebeast had devoured it . So there are no photographs of that meal.
But don't despair, we came back today for breakfast.
I got the breakfast burrito and Chandler got the breakfast sandwich on gluten-free bread, which please note is usually much smaller and denser than the regular bread so might look smaller.
The breakfast burrito was huge. I am normally not a wrap up the other half kind of gal (although I strive to be) but in this case I had to take half of it home.
They also have coffee and lattes, both regular and decaf. And a damn good and friendly attitude. Both days we were served by people who seemed happy to be here and super nice and helpful.
They have one table inside and some stools and several outdoor seats.
This place is a great find, wish we had found it before we were planning on leaving and becoming ex-pats, we would definitely be on a first name basis very soon because we like it that much. And I should mention that they also have some supplies like ready-made sandwiches and drinks and vegan donuts! #Veganuary

And just one last note. I saw a review with someone giving them two stars because they said they served honey (they no longer do, it was literally one batch that they purchased during the pandemic when a local person said they had some locally produced honey and they were selling it to support first responders ). To that I will simply say that in the last few months I've seen multiple local and beloved Vegan eateries shut their doors or start serving meat because they could not survive. That makes me very very sad but I am also a realist and I want to support and patronize a small independently owned place like this. And my feeling is that gentle education is always most effective.

Amazing find!

Lovely shop with all kinds of vegan snacks, sweet and savory, but also a refrigerated section with a variety of vegan cheeses and some unusual items that I hadn’t seen elsewhere. And the juice bar was fab. I had a vegetable juice with reishi mushrooms that tasted great, called a metal detox. I think the menu had real food, too, but we were eating out way through the neighborhood so only had room for the juice!

Such a good breakfast!

Delicious, zero complaints!
The avocado toast is great, the breakfast sandwich was SO good (and really gorgeous)! The smoothies and juices are excellent.
Tons of choices on the menu for food, not just juices and smoothies.
This place also has an excellent choice of vegan staples in their market selection.
It’s clearly a place run by vegans / thoughtful people!

Vibe up!

Glowing Juices is where I go in Echo Park when I want to raise my vibe. Their juice and smoothies are excellent. Everyone who works there is friendly and professional--always willing to help you make an informed choice. Their juice blends and smoothies align with different chakras, helping you stay energetically balanced. They also have a small market with lots of GF and vegan options. Highly recommended!

A healthier choice in LA

Los Angeles is full of vegan places offering mostly highly processed food so it is good to have a healthier alternative. Glowing Juices sells mostly smoothies, juices and acai/pithaya bowls. And all of them are very good.

Besides, there is a little store section.

Pros: tasty and healthy

Cons: could be a bit cheaper
