No plant based milk - Edit
No plant based milk when I went and the Earl Grey tea could have been nicer. For me the meat displays in the farm shop were excessive.

Lots of options - Edit
Can see why this is voted the best services in the country
Read moreThought it would mainly for meat farm. But there is lots of plant based options. The vegan tofu wrap could do with some more seasoning😅 but the shop, pastries and bread are awesome!

Ok - Edit
No vegan pastries left on our visit at 1pm. The tofu flatbread I wanted was not vegan-the server said it was served with a yoghurt dressing that couldn’t be removed!
Read moreInstead we went into the farm shop & had sausage rolls , and a vegan muffin. No side salad available so lunch was a bit dry.
Coffees were nice though and it’s a nice location
Pros: Free WiFi

Plenty of sweet options - Edit
Pistachio croissant was amazing, and there are a huge amount of vegan chocolate and sweet options in the farm shop. 4 vegan scotch egg flavours. Vegan main options l, chips, spinach pie, frittata. They could really do with offering a vegan sausage roll.

Plant based pastry heaven! - Edit
Wasn’t sure what vegan options to expect so this was the best surprise. A range of plant based pastries made from a bakery in Stroud. Amazing! They cost £3.30 each which I thought was quite affordable too.

Cons: Out in the open so wasps were flying on them

If only all services were like this! - Edit
First time stopping at Gloucester Services and was pleasantly surprised. Not your typical motorway services, you won’t find the usual stores here. Instead there’s a farmshop set up with produce available from independent businesses, many that are local. There’s a huge selection of fresh breads and pastries as you walk in, at least 5 vegan pastries on offer and all looked delicious. There was also cooked breakfast options, a fresh salads counter, plant milk for hot drinks and plenty of choice to takeaway in the shop. I took away a cinnamon twist for a quick breakfast (it was lovely) and at around £3 I didn’t think was too bad value considering motorway services prices. Up to three hours free parking.

Vegan friendly with several options - Edit
All services should be like this one. No chains fresh often local produce. We had the cooked vegan breakfast smoked tofu slice (usually avoid smoked stuff but it was really nice), mushrooms, tomatoes, beans and toast (choice of bread including sourdough).
Read moreWe also took some 'plant based' pastries home several options my pistachio croissant was excellent. I did hear someone saying 'why are they all plant based' but they bought one. I can see why they are sold as plant based as I expect they would sell less marked as Vegan.
The breakfast was marked as vegan.
No extra charge for oat/soy milk etc.
oh the grounds out the back are nice too and there is a water fountain too.
I would definitely wait to stop here rather than 'normal' services
Pros: Lots of vegan choices , Water foundation , Not the usual boring multinational services
Cons: Not really

The “vegan” cooked breakfast isn’t 109% vegan. They cook the tofu on the same skillet as the eggs. I know there is always a risk of this when you eat out… I always ask for my tofu to be cooked separately and they are happy to do this
