BEST VEGAN BIG MAC... EVER! - Edit

I’ve tried making my own version of the vegan Big Mac at home and I’ve also tried the famous one from Doomie’s in both Toronto and LA. The big man from Globally Local is out of this world! I even had my non-vegan friend try it and said it both tasted and smelled like the real thing. I decided to order via UberEats and it was very reasonably priced, hot and delicious.

Pros: High quality and good taste, Reasonably priced, Convenient

fast food for everyone - Edit

I’ve eaten from their food truck (famous burger) and their Dundas brick and mortar (chicken burger and fries) and all their food stands up against traditional fast food in taste but without the cruelty. Maybe not food you shouldn’t eat it every day (like any fast food) but a fantastic treat!

Pros: freaky good meat alternatives, food truck travels to you!

Best burger ever! - Edit

Traveling with work again, checked my Happy Cow. Cow says try Globally Local, looks yummy. Cow is so right. Excited to find a vegan "burger joint." So I'm a new vegan and I have to confess that burgers have been my thing for many years. But after the shocking truth in Cowspiracy, I couldn't go back. So I've been adjusting and learning to like new things. Today was honestly a treat to walk into Globally Local. I liked every single thing on the menu before me. Settled on a Big Vopper combo. Where have you been all my life?? And why aren't you in every city?! Seriously delicious burger and the fries were outstanding. Left deliriously content. And there's delivery through Just Eats too! Will definitely be coming back.

Pros: mainstream fast food options but all vegan, quick and delicious , some nice pro-critter artwork on display :)

Cons: didn't notice any

I have never been a fast food person - Edit

I have only visited the Globally local food trucks and the Globally local location on Highbury with the drive thru. I have never been someone who loves fast food, and the meat equivalents with a chicken burger or a big mac were never my thing.

I'm sure someone who loves fast food but has gone vegan or vegetarian will love the burger options but I was not a huge fan (not because they were bad, but just because I didn't like the originals much either!). I look forward to trying the breakfast menu and some of the other options on the menu since I am slowly going to try to work my way through all of them. I did enjoy the french fries that I tried. I was disappointed that the soft serve machine was not working when I visited.

Glad to see this chain expanding and doing well. If you like fast food, definitely check it out! Its exactly what I expected it would be.

Pros: Whole menu Vegan with lots of options, Affordable and fast, All day breakfast

Cons: Highbury location looks a bit dated, Soft Serve machine was broken

Amazing find! - Edit

As a touring musician I am always on the hunt for vegan fast food and I was so stoked on it. Effie and more importantly after. I hope they find success and add many many locations across Canada! Make sure you add fries supremacy to whatever you order

Pros: reasonably priced, quick

Cons: they have breakfast but don't open until 11am

Vegan fast food - Edit

As far as fast food goes, I can't see how they don't get anything less than 5 stars. But obviously this isn't a gourmet restaurant. I think they meet all expectations and it's a place I will be going to often when I'm downtown. Between the downtown and Highbury locations, I've eaten here five times now, and I will rank my favourite entrees below in order.

1. Gyros. This pita is fantastic. The tzatziki sauce is especially tasty.
2. Vegan Vopper. Basically like a BK Whopper but with tempeh bacon and cheese added. A really great burger, and much better than the Famous Burger.
3. Chickun Sandwich. About what you'd expect for a fried chicken sandwich. Good flavour and crispiness.
4. Famous Burger. Although this is what made them famous, I actually thought it was the worst thing I've tried so far. It's not bad, but it just really lacks flavour compared to the other things listed above. The 'Mac sauce' is a bit bland and doesn't have that kind of 'zing' flavour.

I've also tried the Fries Supremacy and the Caesar Salad. Both are great side dishes that I would recommend.

Pros: Full fast food menu

Taco 'bout convenient - Edit

Food always delicious. Never waiting long for meals. Employees warmly welcome new folks which I think is important for the movement.
The fries are top tier for London fast food- crispy outside, soft inside, and consistent.
It's nice to see the variety of events Globally Local gets involved in; sometimes ballsy (see Ribfest) and that's alllriiight.
These cats seem like a stand up company and I try to pop in at any chance.
Oh yeah great tunes, too. Dance party at the sandmich board.

At the end of the day if all you want is yummy downtown fast food then check this place out, torment-free products aside.

great chickun sandwich! - Edit

I visited this place yesterday for takeout and got the chickun sandwich which was very, very tasty. It had a satisfying texture- a nice firm patty- and was probably the most convincing chickun burger I've ever had. I've tried a few places in Toronto and they don't quite measure up. The fries were thicker cut and tasted double fried. Very yum! Will definitely be coming back!

Great Vegan Fast Food - Edit

I went here after a night of drinking and ordered the Big Mac meal. I've never had a Big Mac so I can't attest to the authenticity of it, but both the burger and fries were delicious. It's not healthy by any means but it's a great way to treat yourself. Plus, it's open 24/7!

Pros: Tasty, Open 24/7, Nostalgic

Good Fast-Food place for a Vegan - Edit

I personally enjoyed the food there well, I had the mac 'n' cheese and got the great gyro to bring to work with me the next day. I thought the food was good, however, I brought some non-vegan friends and they only kinda liked it. The "chicken" in the ceaser salad was spongey.

Pros: good for vegan fast food, open late

Cons: chicken in ceaser salad was spongey

Amazing cheat meal! - Edit

The food here is really good! It isn't meant to be the healthiest option, however, what it lacks in health it makes up in taste and expression. Great fast food option. Try it at least once, or twice!

First visit - Edit

Exceptional burger and Pulled Jack sandwich. We shared a Mac and "Cheeze", it was not very good, in fact, we tossed most of it. However, that being said, I cannot wait to go back. Very good prices and a decent selection.

Pros: Good prices, Quick service

Cons: Parking is challenging

Amazing Food - Edit

As soon as Globally Local's fast food storefront opened, I had to go! My hubby and I went for the breakfast BLT bagels on boxing day and were not disappointed!
We have since gone back to try almost every item on the menu (the newest addition - the gyro is our next trip). Everything always tastes delicious!
My favorite item is the Fries Supremacy. Soooo good! They are the perfect comfort food after a long day at work, or just to dig into while binge watching on Netflix.
Keep up the great work!

Pros: Food is consistently good, Team members attention to details, Friendly staff

Cons: Dinner hours there is limited parking available

Great to see this in downtown London - Edit

My family visited Globally Local and overall (We're a mixed bag of Vegan, Vegetarian and regular humans!) and overall enjoyed the food. It's so nice to be able to get a really good Vegan burger and fries, especailly in downtown London. Bravo to Globally Local for taking this step.

The place feels (as of March 2017) a little spartan with a "make and mend" feel but thats OK I guess, and is a small price to pay for decent Vegan food.

Two things that we did note though were:

As yet the range of foods on offer is quite limited, so you might get bored going regularly.

Secondly, we were really surprised to see that the range of cold drinks on offer were all from the Coca Cola Co. (Dasani, Minute Maid, Vitamin Water etc) And that seemed a really odd fit for a Vegan diner! There are SO many way more ethical companies making excellent healthy drinks that would fit this marketplace so much better than the products of a company responsible for numerous questionable practices globally. This made us really question how well thought out the place really was, and that is a shame.

Hopefully these are teething troubles, because its an excellent concept overall and we really hope they can help change the fast food landscape in London.

Pros: Good Vegan food

Cons: Limited choice, Poor range of cold drinks
