First night in Reykjavik - Edit

After reading reviews on here, thought I would give this place a chance. Food was great. I had the veggie burger and it was very tasty. Had the brownie after and it was amazing. Would definitely recommend this place for all vegans visiting Iceland.

I had a bowl and my partner had a burger. Excellent both. If you’re not from Iceland try the oumph. It’s great!

Twee, trendy, pricey. - Edit

Vegan and veggie choice is limited to a wrap and a salad and they are happy to put meat on everything, which is off -putting. More focus on the decor and furnishings than on the food I think. Pricey.

Pros: Limited veggie choice, Central location

Cons: Serves meat, Expensive

Glo - Iceland - Edit

This is actually mostly vegan... There is (I think), two chicken options but the rest of the menu is vegan, including the salads. There are a couple of gluten free dishes as well as a some raw options.

Pros: Lots of choice Friendly staff

Nice and cozy place - Edit

We were happily surprised by Glo. Very good food, with a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. The place is a little bit hidden, but nevertheless very crowded. Friendly staff which speaks very good English.

Pros: friendly staff, tasty food, warm!

Cons: They serve meat :/

Quick vegan food - Edit

Choice of mains (it was vegan wrap and vegan lasagne when I was there). All mains come with salad- you get to choose three different ones.

Super good and healthy- in comparison to other vegan options in Iceland.

Good food at a GREAT value - Edit

Had the Thai carrot soup with bread for 1250ISK, but it is available with salad for 1850ISK AND the soup comes with a free refill. A great value for one person but even moreso when you are looking to split a meal.

This is a nice place to go for an easy and quick lunch or dinner. They offer a few vegan options including a variety of salad bar choices. You order at the counter and your food is ready to go right away. Lots of seating available.

My favourite place in Reykjavík for vegan options - Edit

Tasty and healthy vegan options here. Convenient because you can mix and match what you want to eat, so it's easy to just choose from their vegan options. Usually they have at least two very tasty vegan desserts, too!

fresh and healthy - Edit

we loved Glo! Menu choices were all delicious and there were several to pick from. The staff was helpful. You order a main dish or wrap (all clearly labeled) and then 3 sides/salads. They give you a small scoop of each but you can go back and ask for more of each if you want - they do that to prevent food waste of people not eating everything they order. I tried the vegan lasagna and can't remember exactly what my sides were but all were so delicious! The place is very clean and modern feeling, and they are clearly very Eco-conscious. For example a sign asking people only to take one napkin and to think of the environment. I wish they didn't serve chicken tho!

Pros: delcious healthy fresh food, eco-vibe

Cons: serves chicken, but otherwise full veg

Very good vegan options - Edit

Went to Glo for dinner during our stay in Reykjavik and I really liked the concept. Always a vegan soup, always a vegan option or 2, a raw option and sadly a chicken option... with this choice, you can get a choice of 3 salads which change daily. On the day we visited, all the salads were vegan, which was great! I got the soup and 3 salads. The portions were quite generous but I didnt get full because the food is so fresh. No processed food at Glo! The soup can get a free refill, which was perfect because it was a super delicious vegetable and tomato soup. We didn't get to visit a second time to see wat the menu would be on that day, but I suspect it was as vegan friendly and tasty as on our visit!

Pros: Tons of vegan options

Cons: No need for chicken on the menu

very good vegan food - Edit

We are here for lunch, had soup and a sandwich, which we liked very much. There are some main dishes and you pick out what you want from the food in the case and the server plates it for you. There are some meat items, but most everything is vegetarian and vegan. We'd go back.

simple and delicious - Edit

Stopped in quickly after a long flight and both my bf (omnivore) and I (vege) were impressed with the quality and quantity of food. Various salads to choose from to accompany a warm meal selection or sandwich. Flavourful food and friendly service, Order at the counter type place with a fair price point. Would be frequent visitor if I lived in this city.

Fast alles vegan! - Edit

Fairly good - Edit

We had some lasagne there and it was good but just kinda bland.
I have only been there once, maybe we came at an off time.
The portion was HUGE so I forgave the price somewhat.
But all in all it was fairly good. Good when looking for something really healthy!

Fantastic options, cute space, clean eating - Edit

For you Americans this is basically Iceland's version of Lemonade. However, after a week of subsisting on french fries this place is an oasis in a dessert of unhealthy garbage. Rotating daily vegan option - we saw coconut soup, vegan burger - as well as a standing vegan wrap. We ate here 3 times in 2 days and would recommend this place above any others we tried in town, including Vinyl.

Pros: great food

Nice vegan food - Edit

They have a lot of delicious vegan options and those are clearly marked on the menu so it's easy to eat there as a vegan.

Bonus: They have free water... which is very normal in Icelandic restaurants. That's why I love to eat out in Iceland :)

Great Vegan Options - Edit

As mentioned in previous reviews, Glo has three entrees to choose from, which seem to typically include one raw, one cooked (usually a soup), and one meat dish. In addition to your entree, you pick three items on the salad bar, all of which are vegan. The salad bar includes options such as quinoa salad, beets, roasted potatoes, cole slaw, etc. Everything I have had has been great. Entrees I have had or sampled include Thai veggie noodle soup, raw sushi, and coconut curry soup. All very good. They also have a small coffee bar with desserts. Not all the desserts are vegan, but in my experience the raw ones are and they are delicious (albeit expensive). They include options such as raspberry espresso, tiramisu, and snickers. So good. I highly recommend Glo for good vegan options.

Pros: Great, healthy vegan good, Raw options, Lots of tasty salad options

Good food - Edit

Good food. The staff when i've been there could be nicer. They all seem like they are super bored. Then again i have only had this experience at Laugarvegur. So they get a minus point for service.

Rather small portions for the price.
Super good hummus.

What really bugs me is the owner Solla is supposedly a vegan ... yet has meat available at the restaurant.

When youre a vegan why would you support the meat industry?

People say its just good business...
Well do you care more about the money or the animals??

Pros: Good food

Cons: Expensive. Staff not friendly at Laugarvegur. Serv

Glo - Laugavegi - Edit

This Glo branch is as prominent as good, you can't go wrong with this.
First it's located in the center of town, it's spacious and clean inside and the food is healthy and fresh. Every day you have some options to choose from, rich in variety, among them always a few vegan ones which are clearly marked. An emphasis is on the salad bar, everything tasty and they'll give you generous portions.
There are two rooms, the main one with the kitchen, many tables and seats and a good view at the main street - from upstairs a good spot to watch passersby. There is another room with a smaller amount of tables if the main room is crowded (or if you want more silence).
The service is impeccable, there is no service at the table though.
The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and will help you out.
Prices are reasonable, since the quality of food is pretty good.
