Best Location! - Edit
Glo has a bunch of locations around Reykjavik and this one is the best! It's a trifecta of awesomeness bc it has Glo, a Joe and the Juice and a bread store all in the same building. Joe and the Juice has a ton of vegan options too. You can't go wrong here.
Read moreIt's also at the intersection of 41 and 49 so very convenient.

Colorful food and reasonable prices - Edit
Gló's menu changes monthly and offers vegan and non-vegan budda bowls. Each main course (such as their lasagna) is accompanied by 3 majestic salads that you can choose from the salad bar (most of the fresh products come from local greenhouses). Ah, don't forget that at the end of the meal it is a must to taste one of their sinful desserts (their snickers rocks)!
Read morePros: Many vegan options, Raw desserts, Nice lounge area
Cons: Not 100% vegan, The menu changes monthly (the soup too) , There isn't daily variety

Very tasty (and quick) - Edit
Restaurants in the area are all quite pricey but this was a pretty good find (only about the equivalent of £11 per person). Super super tasty and ready in 2 minutes! Both went for vegan bowls

Delicious vegan bowl - Edit
We got the vegan bowl and a vegan Mexican bowl, most things can be made vegan as they have something called Oumph which is a vegan meat substitute. My dish came with non-fried falafel‘s which were terrific, hummus and Tazaki dressing.
Read moreI will say that the concept of dressing on the side does not appear to have reached Iceland. Countless times I’ve looked at somebody asked for dressing on the side they looked back at me in the eyes, nodded, and the dressing came on the food. But oh well it was very good.
It is a fast food restaurant however and getting them to slow down to answer a lot of questions was difficult. My boyfriend is gluten-free on top of being vegan and it was not easy to find out the ingredients the different meat substitutes to make an informed choice. But it worked out and we were very happy with our meal.

Fantastic options! - Edit
Even though Happy Cow will not let me give it a five star rating because it is not fully vegan, it has more options and more flavorful food than many other fully vegan places in town! Definitely will go again.

Delicious vegan quick meal - Edit
This restaurant is located in a commercial part of the city I would not have visited except that I was booked at a hotel about 20 min walk away. I was excited to see this pop up when I searched vegan restaurants, as I had eaten at another location several years ago when I was last in Reykjavik. The vegan bowl was excellent, a mix of roasted vegetables, quinoa, mock meat and hummus with greens. There are a few other vegan options on the menu also. This restaurant does serve meat. Located in a small food court with Braud & Co bakery (also delicious, although I don’t know about vegan options) and a Joe & the Juice coffee/juice bar.

Great vegan food - Edit
Loved this place. Super healthy menu and modern decor - nice atmosphere. All vegan and gluten free dishes clearly labelled on the menu (there is an English menu also). You can do a create your own salad bowl with lots of rices, veggies, pastas, sauces and different proteins. They also do amazing raw desserts, smoothies and kombucha. I had the Indian bowl - would recommend it was really delicious.

worth a visit - Edit
Glo-Fakafen has breakfast options (smoothies, etc.), and all of them were vegan. Though limited, it was nice not having to go through the hotel breakfast buffet to find the few options that you hoped were vegan. On top of it, included in the space, is a bakery that has several vegan options including a vegan cinnamon roll and a vegan pretzel (also, we were told all of the breads were vegan, but we did not try them). After enjoying our first visit, we made another stop there as were were preparing to leave Reykjavik.

Gló Street Food - Edit
The Gló Street-Food restaurant in Fákafen is located inside the Gló store, the store is also nice to visit. Gló is a restaurant chain in Iceland and Denmark that have two types of settings "Street-Food" where they offer the burger and the bowl. With the bowl you pick your stuff yourself, and they have surprisingly good soy meat option for the bowl along with round veggie patties and round raw patties. The other type of Gló restaurant has daily specials so the menu is always different but always at least one Vegan option. I love the vegan burger at Gló Street-Food, I also love junk food burgers but this one is soo good!
Read moreAlso bus line 5 stops right in front, get out at Fákafen or Mörkin depending on what direction you are coming from.
