this shop is an institution within france, and it's not without cause. every flavor is unique, artisanally crafted, and made with 100% fruit. the sorbets are all vegan. there is no shortage of options, and so it can be difficult to choose - i sampled the fig, but chose to get a scoop of bitter cacao and pear for my first time.
it's very popular, but while lines can get long, they also die down quickly.
there are multiple places selling the berthillon ice cream on the île de st louis and i think i was maybe not at exactly this address. they have about a dozen different sorbets and according to the staff, all of them are vegan. we tried pear and mango and they were very good albeit very sweet. unfortunately, they didn't know if the cones contained egg so it's better to go with a cup if you want to be safe.
in my view, the ice cream is very expensive with 4€ for one scoop but it gets less and less expensive with the amount you order: 2 scoops are 7€, 3 are 9€ and 4 are 11€. so I would recommend to share instead of ordering seperately.

Pros: artisanal vegan sorbet, classic french ambiance, delicious
Cons: long lines, too many good options
