Many options but cold food - Edit
There are sone vegan dishes that are clearly labeled. I had the quorn stirfry, which tasted good but unfortunately was cold.

Poor availability and poor flavours - Edit
The vegan options (plural)presented on the menu which attracted me here were not available. The service was slow at picking up the order despite request for assistance. The available food was bland, unseasoned and uncared for. Pity,Giraffe used to be good.

Vegan option in the airport - Edit
It was wonderful to find vegan options on the menu at this airport spot during a layover. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t well seasoned and overall not all that tasty. Some of us ordered vegan breakfast plate. I ordered avocado toast and a kale smoothie. The smoothie was really great. The avocado toast needed seasoning. It seemed to just be smashed avocado with nothing added. Toast was cold and stale. On the vegan plate, the sausage looked promising, but was bland. Mushrooms also had no seasoning. Room for improvement for sure, but we were still grateful to find good we could eat instead of resorting to the snacks we carry as backup when we travel.

Quick vegan food! - Edit
This was a great stop during my layover. I ordered their only vegan lunch option which was the vegan chicken burger. Very tasty! And the food arrives in 5 minutes! Perfect when you have a flight to catch.

Whenever you have a layover in Terminal 5, Giraffe becomes a solid spot to grab a quick bite while still experiencing restaurant quality food.
Read moreI was grateful to see that they had some good vegan options available. I went with the Veggie Brunch Plate (£11.50) made vegan by swapping the egg for another sausage. The rest of the plate contained sautéed mushrooms, tomato, chips, and smashed avocado.
Digging into this plate was a fabulous way to get my body into the European time zone. It was essentially an English breakfast minus the beans and the toast that should have come with the smashed avocado. Everything was well seasoned including the veggie sausages, which I really enjoyed.
Although they said it would take 20 minutes for my food, it actually came out within 5 minutes of placing my order. Overall, I'm happy I was able to spend some time relaxing and enjoying a meal while waiting for my gate to appear.

I enjoyed the chicken-free sandwich; the fries were pretty good too. I didn’t give myself enough time to receive my food and eat before I had to go to my gate, but the staff were understanding and packed my food to go.

Many vegan options. Had the "chicken" burger with sweet potato fries. When they arrived cold I asked the guy if this was the intention and within 5 min I had new warm crispy super tasty fries! Burger was also ok.

Some Vegan Options - Edit
After getting stuck in this airport a couple times it was nice to try something new. We arrived during breakfast hours when they have NO vegan options but they were super accommodating and the chef made us a vegan apple crumble which normally isn’t served until much later. Service was a bit slow but they were nice and went out of their way to accommodate us. The apple crumble was delicious!

After being deprived of vegan snacks/meals on the 10hr flight, it was nice to have a place to eat a nice vegan meal! They have a separate vegan menu! I had the Jackfruit Curry, the homemade fries, and kale smoothie. It was just what I needed! The dessert options looked really good, but I was stuffed with the options I had!

It is definitely not my preferred restaurant, now in an airport, especially after security, you have to take what you get.
Read moreFrom that point of view, the vegan options they propose, should be a must have in all airport restaurants, now that is not the case.
Therefor this is really a great start, I hope it gains some popularity with these vegan options, will extend it and will inspire other airport restaurants as well.
Last time I passed by I took a smoothie on the front counter and was really disappointed, bad service, some ingredients not in the smoothie...maybe just a bad day of the staff...
