Vegan Full English!

I thought the best I could do for airport breakfast was some hash browns, but this place exceeded my expectations with a delicious oat milk flat white and full English (beans, mushrooms, tomato, hash browns, guacamole, sausages). The vegan sausages were essentially sausage-shaped hash browns, and while a bit more protein would have been good, I do love potatoes in any form. They were also very allergy-conscious, asking multiple times, and the server (at the bar) practically read my mind. Highly recommend.

Great smoothies, decent vegan options

I had a few hours before my evening flight and was pleased to find somewhere with vegan options. I had the Sticky Quorn Stirfry and Apple Gyoza for dessert. The smoothies were so good I indulged in a second one (I had the Avo Go Go and Blueberry Thrill). Relatively limited vegan options, and pricy, but both these things are to be expected in an airport.

Good airport breakfast

The flavor won’t knock your socks off or anything but it’s nice to have a full vegan breakfast plate, let alone in an airport. Quick service. Items clearly marked and allergen conscious.

Super Allergy Conscious Vegan Breakfast in LHR

While in London Heathrow Airport on an extended layover, I searched Terminal 3 for any vegan options for breakfast. When I stumbled upon Giraffe, I saw they had vegan marking on the menu and included a full veganized version of an english breakfast called the Garden Breakfast.

When I sat down, the first question was immediately about any food allergies or dietary restrictions. I explained my vegan diet and allergies and was given an iPad which auto-filtered the menu to what I could order as well as warning for what "may contain" cross-contamination.

I opted to order the garden breakfast under their pre-designed vegan version. The plate came with baked beans, sauteed mushrooms, hash browns, a grilled tomato, guacamole, and vegan veggie sausage (more of a vegetable patty and not vegan meat). In order to make it vegan, they removed eggs from the breakfast and instead added additional vegan sausage. On the side, I got a piece of toast with vegan butter spread.

The waitress was very sure to make sure I knew that the labeling on the bread said "May contain milk or eggs" but it was vegan based on the ingredient list. The chef also made sure I was aware of any allergen issues.

Despite the restaurant being extremely busy and our waitress having to work many tables, the food was great and we were in and out quickly. The restaurant aims to have food to the table in roughly 10 minutes and that was the case for both my and my wife's meal.

Pros: Vegan Marked on Menu, Interactive Dietary/Allergen Guide, Substantial Breakfast Offerings

Cons: Crowded, Waitress Worked Many Tables

Totally ignored, so left

I asked to sit near front but they refused and sat me in a corner. Then they did same to a couple after me who were also asking to sit somewhere more appropriate, in the many empty tables. No server bothered to come take our orders. I eventually gave up and left and the other left right behind me.
