Vegan Cheese Prices 🙀

We have been regular Friday night customers for years, but the price of the vegan cheese has gone up and up. It just shouldn’t cost that much!

Pros: Great pizza for non-vegans

Cons: Way too expensive for vegan cheese

Gio’s vegan pizza and calzones are yummy

Gio, who is often at the restaurant, recently added vegan friendly choices. I’ve had pizza, calzone, and breadsticks all as 100% Vegan, and they are all terrific. Gio has verified that the dough and tomato sauce is vegan. The restaurant does upcharge $5-$10 for vegan cheese.

Pros: Vegan Cheese, Vegan Calzones

Cons: Must be clear about whole order being vegan

$10 extra for non-dairy cheeze 2/2018

We have been driving across town to Gio's for their pizza once a week for almost a year. We always order the same thing, a veggie with lite vegan cheeze. We have had several conversations with the staff about the honestly obscene amount of cheeze they use, asking them repeatedly to use less on our order. We were comfortable with paying the $4-6 (depending on who took the order) extra they would charge for the cheeze, even when we asked for less cheeze we were fine not being offered a discount.

When we placed our order yesterday the woman on the phone failed to tell us that the charge for vegan cheeze had jumped from $4 to $10. She asked "Gio" if we could have a discount since we asked for a lite amount of cheeze, which he refused. When we arrive to pick up our order he accosts my boyfriend about the discount (which we did not request) and complains to him about the price of the cheeze, which is apparently $17/bag. He was incredibly overbearing and irritated with us before we even knew about the upcharge. We got the impression he has an entirely different approach to customers who order non-dairy pizzas.

This place has fine crust but shouldn't have a happycow profile anymore. I'm sure they won't even offer the cheeze for much longer.

Pros: Pizza finally had a lite amount of cheeze on it

Cons: Got charged $45 for a pizza, Got scolded for ordering the pizza
