Delicious Ethiopian vegan dining - Edit

Excellent food, well spiced, cooked just right. Had the combo platter for one, for which one could choose Four entrees from the vegan/vegetarian menu. Had the gomen- collard greens, cooked just right, not mushy, nor crisp, well seasoned with mild Berbere spices; Missir wett - slow cooked, Berbere spiced lentils; Atkelt wett - cabbage, potatoes & carrots in a carmelized onion sauce, & Engouday wett - spiced Berbere sauces mushrooms; all on injera.
Non vegan dining companions had combo platter consisting of two meat items & four vegetables, on injera, which they enjoyed. Dessert items included sorbet as vegan option, which they were out of when we visited. They also have baklava, but it has honey.
In an up and coming neighborhood of Brooklyn. We walked over, so no parking issues. Plentiful on street parking, just read the signs for restrictions.
Moderate pricing for NYC, expensive in comparison to other cities.
Serves meat, fish. Very vegan friendly with 8-10 vegan menu entrees.
Friendly, knowledgeable service, convenient corner location, family friendly.

Pros: Good vegan entree selection, Friendly knowledgeable staff, Convenient location

Cons: Not 100% vegan, Serves meat, fish

Five star Ethiopian - Edit

Best Ethiopian in NYC. A good portion of the menu is specifically vegan, and the servers can answer any questions about some items they can make without kibbeh (butter). Consistent, delicious food. The owners are super friendly, the staff is nice and helpful. Decor is good, and they have a nice back room for when they're busy.
What more to say? I can't recommend this place highly enough! I've eaten Ethiopian for years, all over the East coast - Philly, D.C., and Baltimore have the absolute best, but Ghenet definitely holds its own. Dreamy and delicious!

Pros: Food!, Service, Reasonably priced

Cons: No delivery
