Big menu

Lots of choice in variety of cuisines. I had Dumplings and Nasi Lemak. Dumplings were large & delicious with orange sauce for dipping - I would recommend these particularly as the portion was large. Nasi Lemak was also good veganised. Portions were generous for the price. Vegan "meats" very filling and with differing textures. Food center is busy but few locals go specifically to this restaurant (working week lunchtime anyway) as I suspect it is a little more expensive by comparison and not to their taste.

Note: Google maps directs you to the office building entrance🫤 you can take the lift down from here but the main entrance is off the main road & then take an escalator down. On floor b1 it is easy to find.

Decent food

I had the nonya laksa. It had a earthy flavour to it. Decent but hope in future they have a spicy version with the chili paste. Cheesecake was good has a nice aftertaste to it and sweetness was not overpowering. Would love to try the black fungus and siew mai sides with Bak ku teh.

Pros: Laksa, Cheese cake

Cons: Need chili paste for laksa

Top

I like the food and the prices are very good for vegan food in Singapore. The guy was nice and it's comfortable to dine in. The service is also very quick all the time😄

Hurried service and bland food

Came here an hour before they closed and was told to order quickly as the chef wanted to go home! As it was, our food took five minutes to prepare 😂
Unfortunately it tasted like it too. My laksa was bland, and no amount of soy or chilli sauce improved it

Pros: Broad menu, Good price

Cons: Bland food, Hurried service

Simple food & quiet restaurant

Located in the quiet basement of the building, Genesis has a relatively wide ranging menu of vegan dishes. The food is pretty good, though hearing the noise of a microwave isn’t usually a great sign.

Pros: Good menu, Takes card

Cons: Think they microwave food

Ok food

We tried multiple dishes, and while they seemed very fresh, the flavours fell a bit short of our expectations.

Depressing but tasty

Went just before closing time. The rest of the mall was closed and this place is in the basement so it felt very sad. But the food was tasty and the team was lovely.

Pros: Tasty

Cons: Depressing location

Perfect local food (lunch)

Ah, Genesis was simply an amazing local experience. The place is a bit hidden, so don’t give up! There was an older lady serving us (maybe the owner) and she was such a fun character. She gave good recommendations and served us free tastings of their home-made sourdough breads. The food came quickly and tasted amazing! It was ”simple” but done so well.

Pros: Atmosphere, Staff, Food

Cons: Hidden

Awesome little place with nice people

I'm here visiting for work and I feel SO grateful to have this place a block away from the office. Nonya laksa all day long, yes please, it's delicious. Or the Nadia Lemak, sure thing!

Simple but delicious

Not the nicest restaurant as it is located in the basement of a shopping mall but the food is really good! Would go again for the food. We had the „chicken“ rice and the laksa.

Good for quick bite

This was one of the only fully vegan places that were open later on (till 9pm). Good food, was not game changing but hit the spot for a quick meal. Was quiet but don’t let that stop you from going

Great restaurant

All in all we were happy and the dishes were comparable with other vegan restaurants here not heavy on fake meat which we liked. Small but mostly local menu with some western dishes. The dumplings and the laksa were lacking a little bit of salt but we noticed that this seems to be a thing all over Singapore.

Happy that places like this exist. All the love and support to the vegan community pushing for change.

Satisfying

After what feels like ages trying to find this place, I succeeded in my adventure and was able to locate it. It’s on the lower floor of a mall so it can be quite tricky to locate. I tried one of their daily specials along with their vegan dumplings and almond milk drink. I absolutely LOVED their almond milk drink! Their vegan dumplings were good, not the worst but not out of this world amazing. I’m not sure if I completely understand the hype (maybe it’s because I didn’t try their lasagna?) but all in all, it was a satisfying meal that left me quite full. #Veganuary

Quite disappointing

The location is dire, in a basement of a very tired mall.
I had the award winning lasagna, makes the top 50 vegan meals in Singapore. Not hard to believe that there are 49 better meals. My partner had the clay pot something. A bit lacking in ant flavour.
For desert we tried the cheesecake, it was ok, but not great.
We have had better in other vegan restaurants, particularly in Malaysia. For such a vibrant city I was quite disappointed.

Pros: Totally vegan

Cons: Menu options, Location , Atmosphere

Vegan Lasagne

A quiet and unassuming eatery in the basement of Havelock II. The menu is quite small but is fully vegan (not many allium-free options), mainly featuring local dishes; popular items are the lasagne and dumplings. There is also a blackboard menu with some daily or seasonal specials. Taste leans towards being light and healthy. I would recommend the lasagne and almond brown rice milk! Hope the menu can be expanded and also hope the place can be spruced up a little. Few minutes' walk from Clarke Quay MRT and Chinatown MRT.

Great "fish" and incredible cheescake.

This is another vegan basement restaurant in Chinatown, although it is much quieter and more serene than the nearby SuManYuan, which is in a food court.

MAINS: Lemak Fish Rice was excellent, yummy satay sauce and the "fish" was spot on. My partner got the lasagna which comes with a side salad. It's a more healthy kind of lasagna, made with lentils. He said it was good as well as wholesome.

DESSERT: The cheesecake! OMG! I've had a lot of vegan cheesecakes and this was one of the best, especially considering it doesn't come with other flavourings, sauces or toppings. It doesn't need it, it is so good as it is. This is one of the few places that also sells vegan Magnums - great to grab one on your way out.

PRICE: Reasonably priced - 34.60 for two mains and two desserts.
