No longer offering food as of Dec 2015. Ice cream / gelato parlor and coffee only, originally established 1984. Chef Kirstin sometimes may host vegan pop-ups in the space upstairs. DEC 2015 REPORTED SHUT BY COW AMBASSADOR - NO MORE FOOD. Open Mon-Fri 12:00am-12:00am, Mon-Fri 6:00am-12:00am, Sat-Sun 12:00am-1:00am, Sat-Sun 7:00am-12:00am.

I shot across town, hoping for a good vegan breakfast, and it turns out that the restaurant is closed and this is now just a coffee/gelato bar. When I was here, nothing was vegan, other than two flavors of sorbet and accidentally vegan bagels. This place is nothing special for vegans.

This 100% vegetarian breakfast/lunch spot is serving some of the most creative vegan breakfast food in San Diego. From Coconut Whip topped whole wheat waffles to Chickpea "Egg" Florentine Benedict with vegan cashew hollandaise--plus weekend specials that are always veganizable--there is something for everyone. Be sure to finish your meal with the wonderful chocolate topped banana bread and coco-whip!

Gelato Vero is a coffee and gelato bar but upstairs is the restaurant and it is outstanding!!! Best vegetarian meals in SD. Everything can be made vegan. You don't want to miss this yummy food!!!
