Good for Samosas

They serve fresh samosa, jalebi and chaat
Sweets contain dairy products so ask for vegan sweets if available

Pros: Good food , Fresh

Well...

Its a crowded place and when a food place is crowded , the taste is self explanatory. The main attraction is the samosas, dont forget to try. You will get hooked

Hidden little samosa place

This place isn't easy to find: At Sukra Path (off New Road) look for the Silver Palace jeweller, opposite the Bishal Bazar shopping mall. On the right there is a very narrow alleyway that looks more like the entrance to "Avis Tailors" (sign above). At the end of the short alleyway is a little courtyard - where the famous tip top samosas are prepared. But go inside first to the cash counter, it's self service. Pay first, then take your receipt either outside for samosa, to the sweets counter (also for Dhokla, very delicious here) or to the room to the right for Chole Bhatura, Puri or Chat. It's usually very crowded, as this place is very popular with locals. They mainly come here for samosas. Hardly any place to sit down. But great snacks and sweets, and very affordable. I love their Dhokla (it's a Gujarati breakfast dish, made of rice and chickpeas, fermented, steamed and spiced). And the samosas :-)
This place started as a little tea shop, and as people wanted to have some snack to go with the chiya samosas were prepared too - which became rather famous quickly, called tiptopko samosa. Several of my Nepali friends state that these are Kathmandu's best samosas. In the meantime there are several outlets, in Lagankhel, Maharajgunj and Thahity.

Pros: Tiptopko samosa!
