The coffee and chai were very good and we bought some freshly roasted beans for home. We were rather late in the day, so sadly there was only one piece of vegan cake left, which didn‘t specifically speak to us. Definitely worth a stop when visitig the northwest of Madeira!

They had two vegan cakes: carrot and walnut and a blueberry and chia cake. They also have plant milks for the coffee. Both the coffee and cakes were perfect. There was also a vegan bagel and a vegan burger on the menu.

The coffee with plant milk (unfortunately additional charge) tasted amazing and the owner was very friendly. They had a really great looking cake display - but unfortunately the only vegan cake looked rather spongy and not as good as the rest. That's why we didn't try it.

Heute hier nach dem Lunch gewesen. Das Café ist auch eine Rösterei und bietet neben der hauseigenen Röstung auch Kuchen, Frühstück, Lunch usw. an. Das Personal ist superfreundlich, es gibt vegane Milchalternativen wie auch vegane Optionen auf der Speisekarte (die selbstverständlich mehr sein könnten 😉). Hatten superleckeren FlatWhite und veganen LemonCake. Die Preise für den Kaffee sind auch wirklich in Ordnung und nicht ansatzweise so hoch wie in Funchal. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder - bisher bester Kaffee auf Madeira 👍🏻🫶🏻

Nice site and happy to enjoy a coffee with at milk in this area. They also had one vegan sweet cake which tasted good. I think there were a few more vegan items on the menu.

We've done the levada walk and stumbled upon Gato Legal at the end of the route. Had the fries and the lentil and bean pie, both very good! Staff was super friendly as well, all in all a really nice surprise!

Tried coffee, hot chocolate and a piece of an orange (or lemon?) almond cake. All of it was very good, especially if you regard the fact that vegan pastries are rather hard to find on the island. Would definitely come back!

Le café qui y est servi est torréfié sur place, il est excellent! Il y a possibilité d'avoir du lait d'avoine pour un extra 0,50€.
Il y a plusieurs des options véganes au menu, des tartes salés et un burger. Des gâteaux maisons sont aussi proposés! Ce que nous avons essayé était délicieux.
*Pensez à commander un extra salade ou frites si vous le souhaitez (pas inclus dans l'assiette).
Bonus: Ils vendent du pain frais cuit sur place!
Une de mes adresses préférées du voyage.

Best coffee on Madeira - Edit
We stumbled into the cafe by accident and it turned out to be the best Cafe we've visited on the island. The staff is extremely lovely, the coffee superb and the two vegan pies delicious. The food doesn't taste like they had to make a vegan option on the menu but actually but some love into it and that's amazing.
