Healthy oasis with nice atmosphere

Comfortable and spacious dining with a health-oriented menu. Serves meat and eggs but with vegan alternatives. The guac-kale-mole with salsa and pumpkins seeds is great (serves with whole wheat pita slices). The Panang rice bowl with spinach, carrots and zucchini (grilled Tofu added) was splendid. Presentation is nice, staff is very pleasant and the pictures on the wall are wonderful!

Pros: Food quality,, ambience, parking, staff

Cons: not exclusively vegetarian

Really yummy

They have a decent selection of vegan choices clearly marked. I highly recommend the tomato soup and the greens. 🤤

Love this neighborhood staple

I love The Gathering! One of my favorite spots to meet friends for brunch or dinner. They have great salads and tofu to sub for eggs! Beautiful interior and service is always wonderful.

Favorite neighborhood restaurant

I eat here all the time, I love their veggie options and they recently got tempeh! They are one of the few local restaurants in West Ashley that offer lots of vegan options, definitely a neighborhood gem 💚

Pros: Tofu, tempeh, vegan ceasar dressing, vegan grits,

the staff doesn't know what vegan means

Well i was here for the 1st time just getting off from the airport this past Sunday morning. I'm vegan and made my server aware of that so she suggested the avocado toast which was soggy and tasteless i also got a side of vegan grits. I politely told her that the toast wasn't my cup of tea and she suggested i try something else. At this point she was polite still but i told her no i was fine with just my small grits but she insisted i try something else. So i saw they had a quinoa and veggie burrito that had cheese on it. I asked for that without cheese. It arrived i took a bite to find out it was full of eggs! The menu did not state that eggs were in it. I did not eat it so my waitress became upset with me! Her attitude completly changed and she said she'd get a manager. I told her i was fine i just can't eat that vegans don't belive in that. She blamed for not telling her to leave it out (the menu didn't mention it) she left after saying she'd bring a manager that i didn't ask for but maybe i should have. She came back with out one and said my manager said we could remake it . At this point my friends had fully eaten and i was put off by her attitude so i declined and i was still charged for my grits and every time she came back it was tense. I'll stick to mellow mushrooms who actually has vegan options. The staff should be educated in the menu and what they offer if they advertise as "vegan friendly"

Pros: not busy at all

Cons: not many vegan items and tasteless

FIVE STAR is in order! Quality food, service and reasonable priced

Arrived in Charleston a bit later than planned, called the Gathering Cafe and they reported they would be open til 8:30 - Great, we headed their way.
Dalia our server made some great recommendations, so between my wife and I we had Caramelized Cauliflower, Smash Potatoes, Asparagus, Salmon and Carrot/Ginger/Kale Soup. All were very tasty. Great good, Great service and a fair price. Thank you!

AND don't forget dessert - the Flour-less Chocolate cake was awesome - little "fudgey, but with some "solid" chocolate made a great texture, we split it and wish the piece was bigger :-)

Pros: Great Vegan choices, Friendly staff, A FIVE star rating is in order - HC will not allow

Cons: 8pm normal closing time - please extended

I LOVE this place!

I really have never been disappointed by what I have ordered. The menu has gone through a few changes but in line with "what goes around comes around" the vegan kale Caesar is back! What I especially love are the new small plates - baked sweet potato with tahini sauce, caramelized cauliflower, wilted greens. Food is always fresh & tasty! Most days there is a vegan "market" soup. Food can be ordered to go. The interior is comfortable & usually pretty quiet. The hours do change sometimes so probably doesn't hurt to call ahead!

Pros: Reasonable prices, Locally owned & sourced, Lots of vegan options

Cons: Hours change sometimes

fabulous!

This is a quaint little place with very friendly an helpful staff. I had the Panang Curry with Tofu - which was delightful! It was so full of flavor that I ended up eating every last morsel (I thought that I was just in the mood for a salad but how could I resist). Sad that I'm finding this place on my last trip to Charleston. But if I ever return - you can bet I'm coming back here!

Pros: flavorful food, good prices, friendly staff

Cons: n/a
