delicious breakfast - Edit

Great location...lovely backyard to have brekky on a Saturday morning. Super delicious food. We had the waffles, mushroom brekky and the marinated tofu served with rice. Everything spot on. Can't wait to come back next time we're in Sydney.

Pros: 100% vegan food. Great backyard.

A vegan gem - Edit

Delicious food that seems well thought out with refined flavours. Airy and light dining areas. I had the ‘gathered bowl’ and it was massive. Could’ve definitely shared between two! It’s rare to find vegan croissants and they did not disappoint! Will be back when I’m in Sydney next.

Nice cafe but beware if you have allergies! - Edit

I came here twice a few weeks ago whilst on holiday in Sydney from London. The first time everything was fine, the food was pretty good. The second time I had quite a bad experience which is a shame. I have been vegan for over 9 years and I am allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. I spoke to the nice man at the counter to explain I'm allergic to nuts and he went into the kitchen to check with the staff what I could and couldn't have. I thought everything was sorted and placed my order, we waited ages for our order to arrive at the table and when it did there was clearly nut cheese on my plate! It looked like they had put the nut cheese on the plate and on the other food and then had realised and had scraped it off but there was still some residue! I asked the female waiter to remake the entire plate of food for me and she said she could get the kitchen to remove the nut cheese. I don't think the staff in here grasp the seriousness of nut allergies. If I consume nuts, I go into anaphylaxis and I cannot breathe. This is VERY dangerous and it is not at all acceptable for somebody working in food service to not understand this as they might end up killing somebody. I actually asked them for a refund as we had already paid for our meals at the time of ordering them. The female waitress didn't seem to understand why I requested my meal to be completely remade from scratch so I decided to just get a refund and go somewhere else as I had lost trust in them. It's a shame as the food in this cafe is pretty decent, my first time visiting was far better and I assume that they had different staff in the kitchen on my second visit. I would really like the owner of this business to deal with this issue and to make sure ALL the staff understand the seriousness of nut allergies. I could have had a serious reaction and could have sued them. I am not just a difficult customer making a fuss over nothing. I eat out at vegan cafes often and have managed to avoid suffering any allergic reactions so far. It's a very good job I inspected my food before eating it. I would like to add that my husband did enjoy his food here and it is not a bad cafe.

Cons: staff need training on nut allergies!

Great pancakes and ice coffee - Edit

I went to my hotel after landing then rushed here. I tried the pancakes with coco cream type thing, raspberries and maple syrup. They were delicious and reasonably priced. I also had an iced coffee wth a big scoop of ice cream. It was nice as it wasn’t too sweet. Service was friendly and there was a lovely outdoor area to enjoy your food. Wish I was able to visit more than once. Next time I’m in Sydney.

Pros: Great outdoor area

Delicious Food - Edit

I had the gathered bowl and it was honestly really yummy. The portion size was very filling, yet not overwhelming. The flavors go so well with each other. My favorite part definitely has to be the creamy pumpkin and breaded tempeh. The best part, it is healthy and nutritious so there’s no guilt after the big meal! 😋

Pros: Delicious food, Well portioned size, Healthy food

Cons: Slightly on the pricier side

Lovely venue, enjoyable lunch - Edit

This is a lovely light-filled all-vegan cafe with lots of food I'd like to try on the menu. I had the Tom Yum Soup which was good without being amazing. I'd be keen to come back to try more of the menu as there was lots of delicious looking food that was served to others while I was there. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Great for breakfast or brunch - Edit

Went for breakfast and had the fruit pancakes and vacon bagel. Both were delicious and highly recommended. Since we enjoyed breakfast so much, we actually took a few things to go and ate them later on for lunch. One of them was the chickpea wrap, which was good, but not as amazing as the breakfast items we had.

The location of this restaurant is great, as is the atmosphere. Make sure to sit in the outdoor backyard area—very cute. Staff were very friendly and the place was clean. Didn’t try any desserts, but they looked fantastic. Would go back for sure.

disappointing on my second visit - Edit

I’ve been here twice now, last week I stopped when I saw the vegan croissants. The almond & chocolate croissant was amazing! Nice chai tea too! But unfortunately today I went for lunch, I had a bagel out of the cabinet. I was really disappointed, the bagel itself was really dry, didn’t taste fresh & the vacon was so crispy it was basically burnt. I’ve had really nice Vacon at other places. The bagel probably would have been much better without it.

Pros: yummy croissants

Cons: dry bagel, overcooked vacon

Great food but... - Edit

Slow and disorganised staff mar this great place. Food is excellent- loved the waffles, pancakes, and the vacon rolls. The smoothies are very good too.
I wish the food just came a little quicker and the staff more organised.

Pros: Good food.

Cons: Slow and disorganised.

OK vegan café, great pastries - Edit

Their croissants and pains au chocolats are to die for (trust me, I'm French;)
The menu is a bit plain and could use more originality, their coffee is average plus (and the dirty chai could use more spice).

Pros: Vegan Croissants and Pain au chocolat

Cons: Other menu items not very original, Coffee very average

Nice place with vegan pastries!!! - Edit

I had their pain au chocolat (similar to a croissant, filled with chocolate) in the beautiful courtyard and a bagel for take-away. I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, but only give 4 stars because I don’t feel that the items I had were sooo special. I haven’t tried enough to justify 5 stars. But would love to come back!

Pancake stack to rival all pancake stacks! - Edit

Arrived here at opening time on a Sunday...friendly, welcoming and efficient staff and chilled atmosphere in the sunny courtyard. The biggest most delicious GF pancake stack was to die for but the size of it sadly beat me...if you're hungry or hung over you won't be disappointed! Croissants stuffed with goodies were delicious too and smoothies were fresh and refreshing.

Pros: Lovely, quirky atmosphere and delicious cruelty fr

Cons: Large portions may be worth sharing depending on y

Bit disappointing - Edit

Was looking forward to trying Gathered Kitchen this morning, but their “toastie” was soggy and just warm, not toasted. The peanut caramel slice was overpoweringly coconutty. The chai latte was nice, but with so many great vegan places in Sydney, I don’t think this place is worth the time or money.

Great in some ways, need work in others. - Edit

Excellent in someways, but failing in others - read this full review before you go. Food, coffee and smoothies very good, with a variety of sweet and savoury options for breakfast and lunch. Best items include the bagel, avo toast, pancakes, all pastries and coffee. Only bad item is the pandan waffles, which are soft and soggy. Most of the staff are very friendly. On the downside, food prep far too slow, such as waiting 15 min for simple coffee or 20 minutes for some avo on toast. Staff not keeping up with pastry demand. Most of them sold out by 9:30am on a Saturday, then not restocked until afternoon, even though croissants are a breakfast food. Staff need training on allocating tables on weekend. Too much confusion with the layout of the store for customers to figure out themselves, especially as you need a table before ordering. They also make you take pastries with you and don't bring them to your table like the rest of the food which is a bit odd and unprofessional. If you plan to go on weekend, get there before 10am, after lunch or don't bother. Be warned that pastries may be sold out or just unavailable at the time of day you visit and they are the best item to try for vegans. Most vegans usually just blindly give 5 stars cos happy to get anything vegan at all, but it's important to be critical of vegan restaurants so they can improve.

Pros: Variety of menu options, sweet & savoury, Delicious pastries, Great coffee and smoothies

Cons: Slow service, Disorganised seating allocation, Pastry demand not met by staff

It makes me so happy to know Gathered Kitchen exists! Wonderful food, mostly healthy, and very reasonably priced. Pancakes are 10/10, pastries are 10/10, and great coffee. It’s very hard to stay away!

Amazing meals - Edit

I ordered the jackfruit burger and boy was it tasty. Also EXTREMELY filling! Their deli/desserts are also amazing, particularly their brownies. This restaurant does have a nice vibe, but wait times for food can sometimes be long at peak times. The hunger you experience waiting is then made up for it when you do get the food and dig in!

Pros: Very tasty meals, Good desserts

Cons: Long wait times at peak hours

So much deliciousness! Vegan pastries!!! - Edit

This place just might be my new favourite place ever. I had the classic pancakes with berries - amazing. And got a takeaway cruffin that I scoffed for afternoon tea. So. Good. My partner had the big breakfast and was really pleased with it too. And the ambiance was lovely.
