Serves meat, vegan options available. Restaurant on top of a small mountain with views of Bad Ischl with the Franz-Josef-Warte. You have to walk 15 minutes through the forest on a fairly steep path to reach the restaurant. Live music every first Friday of the month. Offers several clearly labeled vegan a la carte options on the menu. Vegetarian items that can be ordered in a vegan version are also labeled. Open Wed-Sun 10:00-22:00.

Many vegan options and great view - Edit
We had awesome food here. Everything was fresh an very delicious. We had the vegan burger, the gnocchi and a dessert. You have to take a 15-20 minute hike to get here but its worth it, not just because of the food but also because of the view :)

Park near the hospital and take the 20 min hike up through the woods to find this place (follow Apple Maps as this shows you the way!). The walk is STEEP!! But doesn’t take long. The view from the top is great on a clear day and there is outdoor seating. Vegan options were tasty. Food is healthy and fresh. Recommend the ice tea to drink. Pictured is the chickpea curry which was very nice😄They had one vegan desert too.

Vegan food in Salzkammergut - Edit
This restaurant can only be reached via an uphill climb of about 15 minutes, but afterwards you‘ll be rewarded with some great views and good food! :)
Read moreGasthaus Siriuskogl is a rare find because it offers several completely vegan dishes, something that is hard to come by in Salzkammergut. The menu changes according to season, but I have been able to find hummus, chickpea curry, a burger and risotto. They are also able to veganize their Pofesen upon request, which you will definitely not be able to get in any other restaurant in the Salzkammergut area!
Pros: Vegan dishes are clearly labeled, Great views, Lovely outdoor dining area

Perfekt für Veganer:innen im Salzkammergut - Edit
Das Restaurant ist über einen fünfzehnminütigen Anstieg zu erreichen. Oben angekommen darf man sich in sehr herzlicher Atmosphäre mit ausreichend Essen und Trinken belohnen. Als Veganerin hatte ich sowohl bei den Vor- als auch bei den Hauptspeisen mehrere Gerichte zur Auswahl - eine Selten- und Besonderheit hier in der Gegend. Ich hatte den veganen Burger, der war wirklich sehr lecker und die Portion ausreichend. Beim Verweilen pickte sich sogar noch ein Huhn auf dem Hof einige Körner zusammen - rundum wirklich ein bezaubernder Besuch!

Bestes vegetarisch/veganes Restaurant mit toller Aussicht! - Edit
Für mich im Salzkammergut das beste Essenslokal! hier haben Veganer/ Vegetarier eine richtige Auswahl an Vorspeisen, Hauptspeisen und Nachspeisen wie nirgends wo sonst im Salzkammergut! Es wird viel regionales gekocht und sehr schön und liebevoll angerichtet! der gesamte weg hinauf und die Stimmung oben sind unvergleichlich!

Essen und Location ist top - Edit
Der steile Aufstieg zahlt sich wirklich aus. Man hat eine tolle Aussicht. Die Karte wechselt und passt sich der Jahreszeit an. Bei meinem Besuch gab es einen Burger und ein Curry. Der Burger war Top.

The Gasthaus Siriuskogel is only reachable via a steep footpath, so you get a workout before you can enjoy a great view over Bad Ischl (including cost free visit of the tower on the premises).
Read moreWe had a vegan burger with fries and pea-balls (a bit like falafel) with homemade potato salad which was both delicious! As dessert we both had vegan Pofesen, which is a rare occassion as they are normally not available vegan. They were crispy and tender on the inside, just perfect. Service was really friendly and knew their way around that vegan stuff.
That said, I really can recommend a visit to the Siriuskogel!
