Incredible experience - Edit
Was it worth the nearly 6-hour drive (one way!) from Seattle for a 3-day weekend? Absolutely.
Read moreWe came this weekend as Jenelle announced she was closing the B&B in Sept, and we wanted to check it out before it closed for good. And thank goodness we did!
Firstly, she greeted us just as we came in and was so warm right away. The Rigley room was comfortable and roomy. The bed was really cozy. There were huge fuzzy robes in the closet and extra fluffy towels in the bathroom. Everything was immaculate.
The grounds are fun to walk around, and you have the option to walk down to the river, about a 15-minute walk. There was a hot tub and single-person infrared sauna, as well as a gazebo with a propane fire pit you can roast s'mores at. Plenty of board games available to play indoors.
We're big hikers, so this location was perfect for us. There are plenty of trailheads nearby, and we went to Sherman Pass, only about 30 minutes away. Colville and Kettle Falls both have some vegan-option restaurants that Jenelle had insider info about.
We had purchased a cheese board from Jenelle our first night that blew my expectations out of the water. We weren't sure we'd be full since the description online said it would be enough for a "light dinner" but we were stuffed.
Breakfasts were delicious. I forgot to take a picture of the crescent roll casserole from morning 1, but it was plenty of food for me and I had to give some to my partner to finish off. Day 2 was a Belgian waffle with compote and a sausage, and both were so good. The waffle in particular was very decadent.
I wish Gardenview wasn't closing. We definitely would have made this an annual or semi-annual getaway if we had known about it sooner. A huge thank you to Jenelle for making this such a wonderful experience for my partner and me! We wish you the best of luck on your next adventure.
Pros: Beautiful house and grounds, Service and amenities, Delicious breakfast

Exquisite Estate - Edit
July 4-6 - We stayed in the Curlew Room, which had a rustic aesthetic with modern amenities such as air conditioning, a TV, and WiFi. The room had a comfortable queen bed, soft carpet, and extra pillows. I appreciated the binoculars and Birds of Washington book.
Read moreThe detached private bathroom had two sinks, a shower with hot water with good pressure, and extra towels. I enjoyed the plush bathrobe and appreciated the toiletries and the nightlight.
The living room provided local information, board games, and historical artifacts. The common area provided self-serve coffee, fridge, microwave, and toaster oven. The entire house was very clean.
Host Jenelle was welcoming and graciously allowed us to use the washer and dryer. I enjoyed the historical walking tour of the property, and the breakfasts were tasty, but I wish the portions were larger.
Pros: all vegan, customer service
Cons: small breakfasts
