Vegan only lunch spot - Edit
I have visited Garden Truck a few times with my partner. We live only a few exits north of Alta Dr and since we are both vegan it's a convenient location. The sandwiches are my favorite. I often get the portabello panini. My partner likes the Buffalo tempeh wrap. The only negative is one time we went and they were out of most ingredients limiting our options. Also, the ceasar salad had way too much dressing. We've never ate there for dinner because of lack of hearty meal options. Hopefully they can expand to a full kitchen someday.
Pros: Location, Sandwiches , Friendly staff
Cons: No dinner, Lack of options , Too much salad dressing

BEST vegan restuarant I've ever been - Edit
So grateful this place opened up in Jacksonville...a little off the beaten path from downtown...but man it is so worth the drive...I make it a point to go at least a couple times a week because it is so good and I have great respect for the husband and wife chef team that took the risk of opening Jacksonville's only true vegan restaurant...Gail and Ron allow no animal products to cross the threshold of their quaint industrial modern meets Whistlestop Cafe allure...all fresh...all made to order...they rock with comfort foods...the TLT replaces the standard BLT...a hickory smokes tempeh with chipolte mayo...lettuce...tomato on freshly bakes multi grain bread...yes fresh baked bread every day...the buffalo chickenless wrap...the power salad..the breakfast burrito...all rank my highest...saturdsys the only vegan brunch in jax...try the pancakes and french toast...and the best damned chocolate chip cookies Ive ever had which has become their signature...and they just filmed a cooking segment on First Coast Living...when it comes to supporting businesses...this is one first on my list because these owners are do gooders...lovers and protectors of animals...and they put their money where their mouth is...LOVE LOVE LOVE

thought I was in Portland, Oregon - Edit
If you are from anywhere surrounding Jacksonville,Florida....go there. Great people and outstanding food. A stones throw from 295 exit 40. If you are with a non vegan.... They will love the flavors. Their homemade sausage was incredible....no soy.
Pros: easy to find and plenty of parking.
Cons: none

Delicious and ALL-vegan! - Edit
I stopped here while on a brief visit to Jacksonville on my way back to the airport (it's just a few minutes away). It's in a strip mall (as is most everything in JAX) but don't let that deter you. The staff was super friendly, the menu was simple but diverse enough to please various palates. And the selection of fresh green juices and smoothies is great.
I ordered the chick-un salad sandwich and a green juice. Both were delicious. The vibe inside was clean, eco-friendly, and modern casual. I would definitely go back again.

Fantastic Food - Can't get enough - Edit
I've been waiting for an all vegan restaurant in Jax. With the city being the largest land mass city in the country, I cannot believe my luck that this place opened just 5 minutes from my home! I have eaten there 'several' times and highly recommend anything on the menu, although I've not really tried the smoothies or juices. The following items are scrumptious: artichoke dip, lasagne, biscuits and gravy, chickun & dumplings, TLT (with smoked tempeh), grilled cheez with smoky tomatoes, potato salad, mac n cheez, collards and black eyed peas :-) Everyone must go here and go here often to ensure that Jacksonville has atleast one place to go where you don't have to alter the menu or ask for substitutions. Fantastic owners and staff, very friendly .. very cozy environment.

Awesome Vegan place *Vegan Owned!* - Edit
Was super excited and surprised to hear of a fully vegan restaurant opening in Jacksonville, especially in the Oceanway neighborhood. A milestone for the veg community, this place is a great first all vegan establishment for the city. Offers a mix of healthy options along with some of the real good stuff that us ethical vegans like. Don't get me wrong, health is cool, but I'd rather get the sausage and pepper sandwich than a juice and salad any day. Speaking of which, the sausage and pepper sandwich was delicious and comes with a side all for $7. Cant beat it! Filling and at the perfect price point as far as I am concerned. Order at the counter and sit down while they bring it to you style, and has great atmosphere. The owner is vegan which is always a plus, ensuring that all products used in the establishment are cruelty free. Limited hours but they are expanding soon, and I am very excited! Can't wait to go back.
Pros: Great portions, Inexpensive, Healthy and not so healthy choices
Cons: Limited hours

Great Vegan Find in Oceanway! - Edit
Earlier today a group of us went to try Jacksonville's brand new, 100% vegan, Garden Truck Eatery! Holy smokes the portions are HUGE for the price. I love their sandwiches and their greens & peas and their lentil herb salad. They bake all their bread fresh in house and the whole wheat and ciabatta are perfect! Try the full juice bar and their smoothies...we sampled the Tropical Oasis smoothie with thai coconut, yum! Can't wait to come back and try the full menu (they just opened yesterday, so not all items on their website are available yet). Great job for your soft opening!
Staff is super friendly and the cafe is tastefully decorated and very clean. Nice relaxing spot!
