Delicious vegetarian/vegan food - Edit
This is a vegetarian restaurant and everything is easily made vegan. They have vegan cheese, sour cream, and most of their sauces/mayos are vegan too. The risotto cakes were super yummy, as was the barbecue tempeh and fried plantain. The butternut squash quesadilla with vegan cheese was so good! The nachos were incredible! Probably best nachos ever, and all vegan with sour cream and cheese!

Staple PVD eatery - Edit
My wife and I have been going to Garden Grille for years and have almost always had a good experience. The nachos, chipotle seitan, Korean tacos, Reuben and quesadillas are all incredible. However, they recently have been changing their menu to have plain veggie dishes as specials which isn’t as appealing or fun.
Read morePros: The staples are always good. , Good alcohol selection. , Not usually too crowded.

the Providence area’s oldest all-veg and natural foods restaurant, and for good reason - Edit
As a frequent visitor to Providence, I eaten here more than twenty times. When I visit, I eat at either Garden Grille or, when I seek a more intimate atmosphere to share with my dinner companion, at Veggie Fun. (I long ago crossed off of my list The Grange for being too greasy and too boozey, crossed off Like No Udder for being merely an ice cream parlor, and recently crossed off By Chloe for being but a glorified snack bar aimed at the undergrad college crowd.)
Read moreI prefer Garden Grille over Veggie Fun because GG offers a greater variety of more nutritionally wholesome foods compared to Veggie Fun’s numerous highly processed mock meats that only make a mockery of veganism. Thus, even as a vegan, I find more wholesome vegan entrées from which to choose at all-vegetarian GG than at all-vegan VF. GG’s online menu may seem short, but that does not take into account its daily specials.
As the Providence area’s oldest all-veg and natural foods restaurant, Garden Grille is a keeper. Here’s a brief history. A Providence restaurant that preceded it was Amara’s, which closed 34 years ago, but Amara’s was never vegetarian, just oriented toward natural foods. Around 31 years ago, an all-vegan café briefly opened on Wickenden St a block away from Amara’s former site, but that lasted barely a year. Then there was Garden Grille’s direct predecessor, Golden Sheaf, also on Wickenden, which was a health food store with a busy café, but the store closed around 29 years ago. Fortunately for us vegheads, Garden Grille has endured for 24 years, and is here to stay.
Pros: wholesome natural foods
Cons: just beyond the Providence city limits

Delicious - Edit
Really delicious food in a nice setting. Some outside seating as well that was really enjoyable on a nice day. Cocktails served all day (and in tiki cups)! A varying menu with many vegan options. Our food was quick and delicious and the servers were a delight. Seemed very popular around lunch time when we were there as well.

I make it a point to stop by for a vegan Reuben every time I’m visiting family in Providence. And if I’m feeling extra decadent, the Mac and cheeze is out of this world! So many vegan options, and no sacrifice in deliciousness. Eat here!

Decent! - Edit
I have been here twice. The first time for lunch when it wasn’t busy and the second for dinner when it was very busy. My first experience was much better. The food tasted better and the server was better. The second time the server didn’t even write our order down and messed it up and never came back to check on us. So i think if i do come back it will be for lunch when it is not as busy😄

Garden Grille Galore - Edit
It’s really close by to the wildflower bakery, so you can have a meal here and then have some dessert there which is always a plus!!! So, the block it’s in is pretty convenient. The Chick un salad wrap I had was really good with some fake bacon in it and a lot of hummus and chick pea

Always worth the trip! - Edit
Everything is delicious! Menu clearly states what is vegan and notes gluten free too. I'm pretty sure most everything can be made vegan, if it's not already. Our favorites are the butternut squash quesadilla, seitan Ruben sandwich, and the Caesar salad is seriously impressive! Cute atmosphere & decor. Outdoor seating in the warmer months. Go to their sister store Wildflour Bakery next door!

Delicous & Awesome Atmosphere - Edit
Garden Grille is one of my favorite vegan restaurants! I have tried quite a few things on the menu. I love the Tofu BLT (add avocado!), Butternut Squash Quesadilla, and my absolute favorite, vegan Pastrami Reuben (ask them to veganize it!). If I had to recommend one item it'd definitely be the Pastrami Reuben. The only item I've tried that I'm not a fan of is the mac n cheese- I've tried a few times and just don't like it. Everything else is delicious. They have good smoothies as well! The decor is super cute. They do take out as well which is awesome.
Read moreThe only downside is that they are always busy so there is generally a wait, but not really anywhere for you to wait since it's such a small place. They do give you a buzzer that you can take to their cafe (Wildflour), or to your car which is nice. It can also be a long wait for take out.
Pros: Delicous food, Knowledgable Staff, Cute Decor
Cons: Long Wait, Always busy

Nice place! - Edit
When I visited this restaurant with friends we had Korean tacos, bacon-sandwich and a seitan burger as far as I remember. Everything was very good, specially the sandwich. Not all the menu is vegan but they can fix it easily if you want to turn vegetarian into vegan. Friendly staff, location almost wall by wall to Wildflour bakery. Popular place, we were lucky to be there early because it was full of people in less than an hour.

always the best - Edit
I somehow neglected to review the Garden Grille in the many years it has been one of my all-time favorite vegetarian restaurants! From my New Englander's perspective, Garden Grille has always provided the best quality vegan options in the area, with great service and atmosphere, despite a very long wait during busy times. I always have to order the wasabi seitan app, and every time I am rewarded by its vegan magic. On the most recent visit I was surprised to see a relatively small menu with some specials, most of which were not vegan. However, with a quick question the special was immediately veganized, and it proved amazing, delicious, and big enough for two full meals. I have enjoyed some of the best beers and cocktails of my vegan life at Garden Grille, and shared a local brew special with lunch. The seitan Reuben was one of the best Rubens I have ever tasted, and absolutely huge to the point that my husband suffered for eating the whole thing in one sitting due to its exhilarating deliciousness. We drove 90 minutes to have lunch and it was worth every minute in the car for the reward of the best meal in a very long time.
Read morePros: exceptional taste and quality, unique vegan creations, all vegetarian
Cons: can be super busy- (but because its so in demand)
