Community Center Café - Edit
The Falafel Pita included falafel, mixed vegetable salad, shredded cabbage, hummus, and tahini served in a warm pita. It was flavorful and pretty filling despite its size.

Moved inside the Community Center - Edit
Garbonzos used to be a food truck parked outside of "The J," but it has since moved inside. The menu at this place is very Middle Eastern and offers look great!
Read moreI went for a casual dinner date with a regular from Garbanzos. He had the Beyond Meat Kofta Burger served in a pita and I had the Grilled Eggplant Plate with 3 added-on falafel balls, served with potato salad, coleslaw a Shirazi-like salad and a trio of dips including: babaganoosh, hummus and a whipped tahinni. We also got a side order of the J-Fries.
The star of the show would have been the falafel, it's only 50 cents per ball, and it's very flavorful. It was green inside because it had so many herbs. Sadly, it was pretty over cooked, and almost black on the outside, but still really yummy on the inside. The eggplant and the babaganoosh were also too charred and smokey for my liking. I wasn't crazy about the tahinni dip, nor the salads, save the potato salad and hummus, which were nice.
My dude could not stop raving about his meal. He loved the burger and the falafels, which he said were "just crispy." And he enjoyed dipping the perfectly salted fries into my dip trio, which he quite liked. He also mentioned that the people working were "just kids" and that the food is better when the owners are there.
Between the two of us, I am giving this place an average of 3 stars. Me a 1 and him a 5.

Fantastic Falafal - Edit
The falafal pita is delicious and one of the best ones I have had. The eggplant and hummus are also really good.
