Delicious place that deserves more customers

The restaurant is run by an elderly couple and specialises in tofu and barley rice. There are a few veggie options on the menu but only one I tried is the barley rice and soft tofu set. I'm not sure if it is always vegan by default, but I specified chaesik the first time I went and have only ever received vegan food.

You get soft tofu that you mix with soy sauce. It looks quite plain but is surprisingly delicious. You also get a bunch of vegan side dishes, barley rice, spicy sauce and doenjang jjigae to mix together and eat as bibimbap.

The portions are generous and the price is very low (9000 won per person). Technically you are supposed to order for at least 2 people, but I've been on my own and also been able to order the same thing adjusted to be only 1 portion. (But if you go as 2 people, the rule applies - aka if you take omni friends they are also eating the veggie meal, but they will anyway thank you for it.)

According to the owner the restaurant is well known for its vegan food and used to get lots of international visitors before covid, but I think it's been hit pretty bad but the pandemic and tends to be pretty quiet. Lately when I've been, I've thought it looked closed from outside, but was relieved to find it open. The food is always delicious though.

Pros: Tasty and nutritious vegan Korean food, Quality domestic ingredients, Low price

Cons: Only one option if you don't have good Korean

Fresh and fast

A bit out of the way, but if you are in the area it's a traditional and simple place, with fast service and fresh, yummy food. Had the bibimbap with a variety of toppings which were all great, came with a hot broth/soup which we added to the rice and was great. Also came with fresh tofu which was heated up on our table while we were waiting. Great experience altogether and was very inexpensive - only 14,000 won!

Pros: Fresh, fast service, filling, inexpensive

Cons: Not near Incheon attractions

Heaven in Incheon

Our family had a 23 hour layover in Seoul so we booked a hotel in a local neighborhood to spend the night- we were about 35 minutes away from ICN Airport. We woke to a sunny, cold (15 degrees F) day with no clue on where or what to eat. We speak/read no Korean. Step in: Happy Cow app. We loved every delicious bite and every minute of our experience at this restaurant. Our host brought a soup pan filled with an almost watery, ricotta cheese-looking mixture which I’m pretty sure was tofu. He placed it on the butane burner on our table and let it cook away after a bit he returned with a platter of wonderfulness. We each were served a large bowl with red/green leaf lettuce, dried seaweed and pickled looking mung bean sprouts. Our host prepared a bowl for us adding steamed rice, various pickled veggies, kim chee, a yummy (miso?) soup, a savory paste of some kind, red pepper sauce, fresh chopped Asian “chives” - all mixed together. YUM. The tofu soup was ready and to that he suggested adding a delicious soy sauce with garlic, hot pepper. We loved it!
