Cold, full of colour not authentic or fresh

They must be joking to call themselves an Indian restaurant. It was our worst restaurant experience in Vietnam. The food was tasteless full of artificial colour and cold. It was not freshly made. They just put it in the microwave but even didn't wait enough to make it warm. We love Indian food and we visit Indian restaurants anywhere we travel. This was nothing close to Indian food.
Even the bread was made before and they just warmed it up. We paid too much for frozen food.

Pros: Big portion

Cons: Coldness , No taste or freshness, Full of colour

Not many vegan options!

Disagree! Yesterday, 12.2.24, it was not possible to order a vegan vegetable curry. Only with cream. they didn’t even understand about the difference vegetarian/vegan.

Thus, only a few vegan options available.

Service was so, so. Therefore the overall atmosphere was not welcoming.

Amazing!

Be sure to ask without dairy, butter (ghee) and cheese (paneer) as most ingredients include that but can be made without.
I ordered de vegetable pakora (without paneer) and the vegetable samosa. The pakora was all right, the samosa was one of the best ones I’ve ever eaten. And I eat Indian food and samosas often! 😌

No vegan options

I tried to order 5 different things and I was told there is butter in all of them. Even some dishes that are traditionally vegan. I am pretty sure they were vegan but I was told they were not. I was also told paneer is vegan. I showed my server a note in Vietnamese explaining what vegan was and still no help. Was really looking forward to trying this place out but unfortunately the staff didn’t really care to help. I didn’t really feel like my dietary restriction was understood.

Cons: Can’t trust that my food would be vegan , Staff didn’t try to help

Must visit

There is one thing you can really truly depend on as a vegan in this world, and that is an Indian restaurant.

The food we had here was delicious. I'd recommend letting the staff tell you what you can order, as they can point out what is and is not vegan. But we had the chickpea dish, the eggplant dish, the vegetable korma altered to remove the milk, and a potatoes & cauliflower dish (we went two times).

The place is quite expensive if you compare it to Vietnamese restaurants. But in my opinion worth it!

You can decide the spice level yourself and the most spicy is actually very spicy so choose with care.

Good Indian food

As with most Indian restaurants in Vietnam, they’re a bit on the pricey side (332,000 dong for two mains, two naans and two cans) but the food is very good. We got a veg curry & a aubergine curry which was especially good. Service was good

Great Indian Restaurant in Cat Ba Town

FIVE STARS (for whatever reason I cannot choose 5 stars)

The owner as well as his staff offered us the best service in all of Vietnam. They are doing all the little things right. The food is delicious and totally worth the prices. We really enjoyed our dinner here. Highly recommended!

Pros: Nearly all the meals are easily being veganized, if only you ask them to do it.

Cons: It is not cheap but then again it's worth it.

Love this place

We have been to multiple locations of this restaurant and are always impressed. They are knowledgeable about what dishes can be vegan so just ask. We love the aloo gobi. The food isn’t oily and the portion sizes are good. Would give 5/5

Great Indian food

This the best Indian food we came across in Vietnam! It wasn't on Happy Cow yet, but defenitely deserves a spot, because they have great vegan food and the owners understand the concept of veganism. There are not a lot of good vegan foods on this island, but this place definetly has some good vegan options! We loved the Baigan Massala and the Aloo Gobi.

Pros: Owner understands veganism, Most vegetarian options can be made vegan, Good service

Cons: Serves meat
