Pros: 100% veganes Restaurant, abwechslungsreiche Speisekarte, urige Atmosphäre

I have been at Gajas Welt three times - once for a la carte service, once at summer festival and once for brunch.
Read moreThe experiences have varied a bit.
We really enjoyed the a la carté menu with homemade swabian 'maultaschen' (stuffed pasta) and Antipasti Plate.
At summerfestival we had burgers, which where kinda loveless to me; there was no sauce, a simple patty and dry bun (I think it was about 6 or 7 €).
The brunch buffet (25,80€) was not outstanding for me - many of the dishes where very oily, the selection of deserts rare and also kinda loveless to me.
It felt more like a potluck to me, not something I'd go out in a restaurant to eat (and pay almost 26€ for) - I compare for example Super Jami's brunch in Stuttgart - for the same price you get some creative composed and well appropriated food, another example is (not only vegan) brunch at Café Babel - around 12 €, and the food is fresh and coherently spiced.
All in all I'm happy that Gaja's Welt as one of the few vegan spots in our area exists, but I only would come back for a la carte service.
Pros: all vegan, nice and green outside area
Cons: unfortunately quality varies

Echt experience, minus meat - Edit
This cozy restaurant proves yet again that any cuisine — even hearty German fare — can be successfully and deliciously veganized. The daily special, a luscious nut roast, was topped with gravy and accompanied by red cabbage and two beautifully browned dumplings. The latter also appeared on the Bauernschmaus, or "farmers' feast," along with sauerkraut, one Maultasche (a kind of local ravioli filled with minced vegetables), and caramelized onions. Spätzle green with spinach is another traditional favorite rendered suitable for vegans here, and the infamous schnitzel is on the menu too, made not from veal but butternut squash.
Read moreAs our visit was in October, pumpkin was put to good use in a soup with apple (pictured), a stew with lentils, and a tomato sauce over noodles, as well as an alternate filling for Maultaschen.
Other cuisines were represented with a Thai curry, a spicy chickpea-sweet potato goulash (also pictured), and bruschetta garnished with arugula pesto, tomatoes, olives, and peppers.
In addition to their own take on the pumpkin latte, several inventive flavors of nice cream, such as quince, sour cherry with rosemary, chocolate buckwheat, and apricot with cardamom, were available. Rounding out the list of desserts were two homemade cakes: carrot and Zwetschgen, or "plum" — extremely popular in autumn — each served with dairy-free cream.
Pros: Ambience, Helpful staff

Super! - Edit

the spirit is vegan - Edit
At first the Schwobastueble looks like the regular traditional restaurant in a rural German area where you would expect tons of meat to be served. Quite the opposite! The current owner Claudia has started on a journey to transform the Schwobastueble into a vegan paradise. After having introduced many vegetarian options first, the menu now almost completely consists of vegan dishes! Only by special request and on Sundays meat will be served. This is a transition phase of a very traditional family business and the goal is to go all vegan.
Read moreThe dishes are mostly hearty Swabian cuisine, very delicious. A changing menu and once-a-month all vegan Sunday brunch offer endless choices.
Go there and support the change from meat place to vegan heaven!
Very friendly and warm service.
Happycow only allows for 4* as long as a place still serves some meat, but the spirit is 5*.
