Good value - Edit
Enjoyed the Jewish meatballs which seem very similar to ravioli and the mushroom cream pasta. Both came with a small side salad. Had the beet salad too which was way too salty. Pleasant and helpful, but hands off service. Small vegan supply store inside as well.

A beautiful oasis in a lovely neighbourhood - Edit
Gabo in Ankara has such a homely feel, and is clearly a mainstay of the local community with regular visitors coming in. I enjoyed a spaghetti dish with soya mince, and the humous plate was really tasty.

The best vegan Turkish cuisine I’ve tried so far! - Edit
We ordered a traditional Turkish menemen (based on chickpea flour and chia seeds) with soya mince and scrambled tofu with vegan sucuk (also a traditional Turkish sausage). Both were delicious but what really made a huge impression on me was a börek with potatoes and their homemade almond yoghurt. It’s a pity they don’t sell the yoghurt separately, I seriously fell in love with it! 🤍 The staff was also very nice, they bring you water just after you sit. The place is located very close to Anıtkabir!

I choose a lentils soup and ravioli from a rich menu. Customer service is super kind, also the environment is friendly. Good prices for good quality and porción. Include some pictures in the menu would be useful for who has not familiarity with the Turkish cuisine.

Really enjoyable - Edit
I only had one night in Ankara and I’m so glad I came here! Got a couple of Turkish classics that are tricky to find plant-based versions of. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Very affordable also :)

Really delicious all vegan food. We tried the soy mince pie and the bulgur ‘meatballs’ plus the soup as a starter. All of it was delicious, we even got some cookies to take home after.

Just Delicious !! - Edit
Gabo kitchen was so delicious, full of options and with big proportions. I was shocked at the price I paid, when I saw the amount of food I had gotten. If I wasn't starving, I most likely wouldn't have finished. The humus was amazing and also a good amount, and I had the simple pasta with red sauce and soy meat (just delicious!).

Can we open a Gabo in the UK? - Edit
My partner and I live in Sheffield, UK, we’re every restaurant in the city serves vegan food, and the quality is high. Gabo would not be out of place.
Read moreWe both had Manti (a kind of Turkish Ravioli) was amazing, the deserts (chocolate cake and pumpkin dessert) were just as good. Even the salad was perfect.
My partner is Turkish and I’m British, and both of us were blown away. I wish we could spend more time in Ankara (we’re just here on holiday) to try the rest of the menu.
I can’t think of anything negative. I’m not sure if they speak English or have an English menu, so that’s the only possible negative thing, but even if that was true, it’s still incredible.
Pros: Traditional Turkish options , Well priced , Great desserts

Kesinlikle gitmenizi tavsiye ederim!

My favorite in Ankara - Edit
I was not used to going to Bahceli because I couldn’t find anything to eat. I was there for my friends birthday party and by luck I have found out about Gabo’s Kitchen. It was the week they opened their restaurant in Ankara. Since then I try to create oppurtunities to find my self around there. What I like about them is their consistency, with certain expectations I would feel disappointed if I couldn’t find what was there from my last visit. Stasia Soup they made as an alternative to Turkish classic Yayla Soup is taste great since the their opening. Not every dish of theirs is good or maybe they do not suit with my taste but many are great and worth to give a try. Definitely their Manti which they served with almond yogurt is one of my favorites.
