Zero Con-Fusion

Arguably, I should have looked elsewhere for sustenance, perhaps somewhere more ‘authentic’ than a five-star resort, but when it’s this good, it’s hard to feel bad about it in the slightest.
First and foremost, as is seemingly the case with all places in this most hospitable of nations, the initial plaudits have to go to the level of service and the wonderful staff who provide it. Nothing ever seemed too much, and their genuine sincerity in all they did only served to elevate my dining experience - not that it needed enhancing, mind you; the food alone did enough in anyone’s standards.
Despite the impressive and diverse range of excellent international fayre - the ludicrously crisp hash browns and the tastefully prepared Indian selection being the highlights - it all played second fiddle to the exceptionally executed local cuisine which was very much (and rightly so) front and centre.
Hoppers that were equal parts crunchy and fluffy; rich, deep dal; gloriously gelatinous milk rice, and addictively moreish kurakkan porridge were all showstoppers in their own right, but as a collective they were truly irresistible.
So enamoured was I with what breakfast had to offer, I ventured back for some a la carte offerings at lunch, and it was just as exquisite. The tofu wrap was perfect midday fodder, and the brinjal, with accompanying rotis, did nothing but further accentuate the class of the place.
Whether you’re looking for a mammoth early morning feed, or a satisfying nourishment at noon, you could do much worse than this gem of a spot.
