Vegan burger choices and candy - Edit
Located at 127 rue Faubourg Poissonniere in Paris 9, this snack restaurant, tea room, confectionery is a friendly and well decorated place to taste organic food of the street food type.
Read moreBurgers (or vegan discs!), Burritos, wraps. In all more than 10 dishes on offer!
A lot of interesting things, sweet potato fries, quinoa croquettes at vromage!
We enjoy each time.
There are good desserts, a large selection of drinks, brunches are also possible.
The exceptional opening hours 9-23h every day allow you to eat when you want.
The communication of the restaurant is very active and positive, for the release of Beyond meat for example.
The manager understood everything.
Everything is almost organic which adds a good reason to come.
The staff has a particularity, it is a company that helps deaf people but it does not prevent to be well served with a smile and quickly.
This is not a handicap for them, nor for us, the manager immediately puts the customer at ease in the communication he is used to. And He also organizes sign language classes to make people aware of this type of communication.
In short, a place bio, ethical with a choice of important dishes, and a good overall atmosphere!
Do not miss it if you do not know.

Good food and atmosphere - Edit
I liked the burgers and felt very welcome there. The staff created a very friendly atmosphere although they had a lot of work due to orders to be delivered (whole group of delivery drivers waiting outside).

Great little café - Edit
We arrived before they were serving food and the server gave me a free tea as he thought I looked cold! The food was lovely we had the burrito and the kebab and the cake was very light. Communication wasn't an issue and I've learnt some new signs!

Friendly and fun but pricy - Edit
It was the first time i got into a snack/restaurant with deaf staff. Interesting concept, and nice for them. All "talking" with their hands.
Read moreThe food was good but expensive for the small quantity.
And i had to order a menu at 10,50€ minimum.
It was ok but not worth so much money, especially not the bowl of cucumber with a teaspoon of white dressing...
Pros: Deaf staff, All vegan
Cons: Expensive, nothing special

Excellent customer service d and even better food - Edit
Stopped off here for a quick lunch before going sightseeing and was so surprised at how nice everything was. Everything is vegan so first of all you don’t have to worry about asking for things to be changed etc. There are a lot of options which makes it even better. And also, many of the staff are deaf so it is lovely to see that businesses are employing them.

Nice concept and nice food - Edit
We re-visited Furahaa after they have moved from Maisons-Alfort.
Read moreI really like the concept. The staff is deaf but you are able to communicate with them without any trouble, and they are friendly. However, perhaps it might help if you had a printed menu to point at (at present, the menu is written only on a blackboard located on top of the cashier).
We had the pita with "chicken", the "experience" burger, french fries with vegan cheese, and Yami (some quinoa balls with cheese) as well.
We also had fresh coconut juice and lemonade, and we pay less than 30€ for everything, which was a good deal.
The food was tasty. The service was -still- a bit slow counting that it took almost 30 minutes to get our food, even though we were the first ones to arrive.
Also, the place was a bit lacking in atmosphere (could it be the round tables and their position?).
I really hope they'll improve their waiting times, and they'll redo a little bit the interior, so that it's more welcoming. Keeping fingers crossed!
-----------------------------------
Visited in October 2016.
Furahaa Break is located just a couple of minutes from the "Maisons Alfort-Alfortville" train station on RER D (one stop from Gare de Lyon). And, it's walkable from "Maisons Alfort Stade" metro station (Line 8).
The concept is nice as their employees are deaf.
However, they are very friendly and easy to communicate without knowledge of sign language.
At the moment they have just 3 round tables (each one sits 4).
They serve burgers, pita, maki, sandwiches; as well as waffles or pancakes for dessert.
Everything is prepared when you order, so, depending on the amount of customers, you may need to wait (the waiting could get long).
The burger and the 'chicken' pita were both delicious, as were the french fries.
Prices were also fair with respect to the portions.
It seems they are still working on the interior, so hopefully they will add more tables.
All-in-all, it was a good experience.
If you are in a hurry, and you speak French, you can send them a SMS with your order in advance, so that the waiting time is shortened.
Otherwise, please be aware that you might need to wait quite some time for your food.

Nice small shop/cafe - Edit
This place is on the same street as 42 degree restaurant and Laelo. I walked by and did not even realise this cafe. It is a little bit camouflaged. The staff couldn’t speak but could understand everything and may even write down when needed. Very nice people there. I even got a free croissant at the end (when I left) after I bought a set meal that had the main dish, side and also desserts.

Love the food and the spirit - Edit
We went here for dinner and were the only customers at that time (weekday). The cooker was deaf but perfectly understandable even if you don't speak sign language. We had a burger, a pita sandwiches, waffles and took sandwiches and makis to take away. The food was really, really good. I loved the burger and the waffle. The cooker made everything after the order, including the bread for the burger. This is great but resulted in a relatively long waiting time.
Read moreThe place is nice but lacks more cosy decoration, and it was quite cold when we were there. But beside that, I would definitely go back since I support the vision and spirit behind this place and I loved the food! Definitely worth to come to Maisons-Alfort on purpose.
Pros: great burgers and food, homemade, fair prices, nice staff
Cons: waiting time, could be more cosy

Dinner for three - Edit
We arrived here after a thorough search of the local area for vegan food - we were staying with a friend who is a Parisian so was able to drive us. It isn't well situated for tourists in the city centre and it was very useful to have a native French speaker with us. The place itself is more of a shop with some tables to eat in. There are plenty of vegan treats to buy from the shop, and a decent menu to eat in. We had the burger and the 'chicken' pitta, both were prepared fresh and served with fries. The food took a while, but you can see it being prepared and there were only two staff on. As everything was fresh it was forgivable. The food itself was lovely, very satisfying even for a devoted French meat eater! We followed with yummy vegan waffles for dessert. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and the place itself is devoted to opportunities for deaf employees. Great place with lovely food, it should have more tables so more people can enjoy it!
