A gourmet experience!

I was there in December with a friend and of course had to try their Christmas dinner! Loved it! Had all the xmas flavors and everything I would expect from a xmas plate...only better! Super great service! Lovely juices and the raw cakes were delicious! My friend had a burger which was amazing too! I was so pleased to find a place like this in Oslo. Everything about the restaurant and the little shop was perfect!

Pros: Excellent food, Excellent service, Nice vibe, cool place

Cons: Not knowing the area, ask where it is

that cake though

The atmosphere is cozy and inviting and the staff and nice.
The food though! Try the raw cheesecakes as I've never had a better vegan cake than here! I'd definitely come back.

best vegan place in Oslo

We’ve had nothing but a good experience with Funky Fresh. Went there twice in a row because we wanted to explore the whole menu because it was so nice, organic and tasty!
The staff that served us was very friendly and kind.
Definitely recommend this place :D

Pros: tasty food, organic stuff, a little shop on the side

Cons: none

Amazing food!

Really amazing food I would love to give it 5 stars but the staff and service is a bit hit or miss. You go there for the food, not the service.
The sharing plates in the evenings are always amazing, beautiful, super tasty and filling. The wraps and salads in the day are s perfect healthy lunch. The Coco crunch balls are so so good!

can be hard to find

Funky Fresh Foods can be a little hard to find, but if you’ve found the big church called Jacobs kirke then you’re about 30 seconds away. The restaurant is inside DoGA, the big building to the left og the church. Their cakes, their burgers, their juices.. everything is so good! They are also very consistent in everything they serve. Its always delicious!

Pros: large variety, very consistent in delicious flavors

Cons: can be hard to find, a little expensive

try it!

Tried their raw cake and cortado! :D Nice that they use oat milk as their standard (and not that awful tasting soy). Tried their vegan burger another time with sliced potato and sweet potatoes on the side. The dressing that came along was superb.

Disappointed

I wanted to love this place. It is 100% vegan and I had read lots of positive reviews but I was disappointed, it just didn't live up to expectations. I was keen to try the sharing dish which sounded delicious but when we went to order we were told that was off the menu. They had also sold out of the burgers so there was actually no hot food on offer. We found the service was a bit so-so and we weren’t advised that the menu was limited until we went to the counter to order. In the end I went for a falafel bowl which was ok but not particularly inspired
The desserts however redeemed the situation somewhat. Both the oreo cake and lion cake were rich and chocolatey. The coffee and the tea (fresh ginger and lemon) that we tried were good too.
There are so many good reviews I wonder whether we just caught them on an off day?

Pros: Delicous desserts, Good coffee

Cons: Limited menu (several items were not available), Service could have been better

The best vegan place in Oslo to take family and friends!

If you're a vegan and are going to take your vegan skeptic friends or family to a vegan place in Oslo, I would recommend Funky Fresh.

Food is great, milkshakes are great, desserts are great. A big plus is that the food always LOOKS beautiful. Interior is light and spacious. Staff is friendly. They serve alcohol which is not too common for vegan eateries in Oslo.

Funky Fresh Cafe is a great place for having a bite and hang out with good friends.

Pros: Food looks great and tastes great, Interior is nice and inviting, Serves alcohol

Cons: Not the cheapest

very delicious burger

We had two lentil burgers with self made patty and self made fries (rather chopped potatoes and sweet potatoes). We liked it very much, but if you are not used to Norwegian prices in restaurants it might be expensive. We paid around 58 Euro for the two burgers, a self made lemonade and one beer (this was 10 Euro already).
The burger could also have been ordered with a gluten-free bread.
The staff was very nice and the waiting time was also more than ok. We did not need to wait long.
P.S. there is another app for vegan places in Norway that has more and better updated information available. Some of the restaurants in Oslo listed at Happy Cow are not uptodate anymore, I assume because of the existence of the Vegan Norway app.

Pros: completely vegan, gluten-free options available, cool place

Cons: expensive if you are not used to Norwegian prices

THE vegan restaurant in Oslo

This cafe and restaurant is truly worth a visit, and is really the O.G. of vegan dining in Oslo. Offering everything from burgers, to raw cakes, ice cream, and excellent sharing tapas platters, smoothies, coffee, milkshakes and more, this place has something for everyone. The space itself is very nice, located inside DOGA (Norwegian center for design and architecture) with a view overlooking the Aker river. The staff are friendly and the food both exciting and satisfying. This is definitely a place for non-vegans and vegans alike. There is also a small store with chocolates and snack etc.
Since it is inside DOGA, there tend to be design/architecture related exhibitions in the building as well, and by the entrance you can find many leaflets on what Oslo has to offer visitors.

Pros: Many options , Good location , Great for visitors to Oslo

Nice food!

I have eaten here I. My last 2 trips to Oslo. Each time I was very happy. They have great salads, plates and burger ( with gluten free bread as option which I tried yesterday). Great atmosphere and cozy. I think this restaurant and Nordvegan are my favorites in Oslo!

Pros: tasty food, raw food and great atmosphere

Cons: they say the close at 10pm but the kitchen closes

Just wow!!

Went there for lunch, and OMG, it was so good! I had a chef's special 'meat' balls which was a very generous size meal and then a kale ginger smoothie and their special rawreo cheesecake - it was the best raw cheesecake I had so far! They have beautiful seating inside and outside too.
So saddened by the fact I don't live in Oslo full time!!

Pros: amazing raw treats, delicious food, beautiful surroundings

Excellent

Shared the "shared dish" with a friend - and it was heavenly. Lots of different dishes, not just delicious, but also a wonderful sight. A bit expensive, but this is Norway after all, restaurants are more expensive than elsewhere in Europe. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, nice view towards greenery.

Pros: VERY good food, nice atmoshere, friendly staff

Cons: not exactly cheap

The best vegan restaurant we've been in!

My boyfriend and I stayed in Oslo for 6 days and during these six days we went there 3 times! Everytime, we ordered one of the burgers and had a raw cake or brownie afterwards. Their food is really really delicious and you get plenty (important point for my boyfriend). It is the nr. one thing I recommend people going to oslo :)

My favorite café/restaurant in Oslo

I only stayed a week in Norway but it was enough to fall in love with this café ! The place is magnificent, the chairs are very comfortable, there are lots of books to flip through... We can spend hours there without being bored a single second :) the waiters are adorable, smiling and kind.
To speak about the food and drinks, there is a rather impressive choice. It's difficult not to hesitate, because everything is delicious ! We loved everything we tasted, it was stunning.

(There is also a little vegan grocery store, which is nice !)

Pros: Stunning food, Smiling waiters, Decoration and atmosphere

tasty food in nice atmosphere

the main points:
*nice atmosphere
*black bean burger (appr. 20€, with few (sweet) potatoes and cabbage salad on the side) was tasty
*chocolate cake (not raw, appr. 4€) was average
there would have been also raw cakes, but they would have been more expensive (appr. 8€). From a mid-European point of view, this place is in general more expensive, but for Oslo/Norwegian-standards I assume it is normal. In any case it is nice to support an all-vegan place, and the food seemed quite healthy, so I would come here again as well as recommending going there to others :)

Pros: tasty, atmosphere, all-vegan with raw options

Cons: bit expensive, but normal for Norwegian standards, (non-raw) cake was average

Nice atmosphere and yummy food

I struggled to find this place (it is actually inside the DOGA building) but I was so glad I persevered! The burger I had was nice and very filling and the chocolate mint shake was amazing. The prices are reasonable for Oslo and the staff speak good English.

Pros: Amazing non-dairy milkshakes, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Location is difficult to find

Big portions Great atmosphere

We went with 3 persons after a big climbing session and were really hungr. Thought about taking the vegan tappas and something else but the girl recommended to try with the tappas first. We had some delicious milkshake on the side and had a piece of cake afterwards and each of us was super stuffed! It was so delicious, my two friends are meat eaters and they just loved the food so much.

Pros: Lager portions, Incredibly tasty!, Honest and friendly staff

Brilliant

I had the buckwheat burger and my husband had the large salad bowl. Quite pricey but that is to be expected in Oslo. Portions are generous and food is nutritious and tasty. The restaurant also uses 50% organic food and is in the process of working to get this number higher.

Also the milkshakes are delicious!

Pros: Delicious, Varied menu

Cons: Service slightly slow
