Stunningly Great Brunch/Breakfast - Edit
For Vegans, Breakfast and lunch get left behind or stripped down to basics; We get avocado toast or the occasional tofu scramble. Frutas Prohibidas has decided to provide something more and provide it at an extremely high level.
Read moreThe Eggs Benedict (no matter the style you choose) is a marvel of vegan ingenuity. I was stunned by the texture of the outside. I was stunned again when I cut through it to find the gooey yoke. I've never had anything like it in my life. Paired with the hollandaise sauce, truffle pearls, and parmesan cheese, It becomes the perfectly concocted dish.
We also ordered two drinks: the Red velvet latte (Beet and chocolate) and the blue latte (Spirulina). The red velvet latte has a delicate taste, but the Spirulina was wonderfully sweet and full of flavor.
The sleek, modern decor is comforting and cool. Get there early because the place fills up quickly, watching as multiple groups were turned away within the first half an hour of opening. You will not be disappointed.

Bad experience - Edit
Went there very hungry. Very complicated system to be seated. We are a couple. There was a table for two people against the wall, he wouldn’t let us sit there. Not even to order while waiting for a table to be available. Unbelievable! Very unfriendly host!
Read moreI am very upset this is my only day in Madrid, I’ll leave in a few hours, drove from very far to try this restaurant, I have experience in hospitality and there is always ways to work things around and make people happy.

Yeah, the main problem there is that there is no reservation system and you can only add to a queue once you are there. The place is really small and I tried to go there 5 times and the 5 had to leave without trying it just because the waiting time was superior to 30 minutes

Exactly ! It’s too much when are already there super hungry!

Hello, We're sorry that your experience wasn't satisfactory. What happened was that when you entered, you went straight to a table meant for one person, without even asking if it was available or if there were people waiting. It was explained to you that we can't serve two people at that table. Firstly, because there's only a high stool seating option at that table, and that space isn't intended for people to eat while standing. Secondly, having two people in such a confined space between two other tables of four can disturb both the guests at those larger tables and our waiter trying to serve them. Lastly, there isn't enough room for dishes meant for two people on such a small table.
Read moreIn your case, it was a Saturday a a peak, and there was a group of two people waiting, so the wait would have been relatively short. However, you chose to leave. We understand the frustration you might experience, especially if you're very hungry and have to wait a bit. However, these are basic rules, and we never let anyone cut in front of other customers under any circumstances.
Regarding the size of our establishment, it can accommodate up to 35 people, and we always strive to minimize waiting time for everyone. If you want to ensure you don't have to wait, coming before 12:00 PM on weekends usually doesn't involve a wait, and during the week, it's also very rare to have to wait. We mention this on our website and social media, but we don't mind repeating it. We don't accept reservations because, as you correctly pointed out, we're a small and informal place. In our concept of the experience, you can come for just a coffee or a full brunch, as well as eat with all of your friends or alone (hence the one-person table).
We're a local business, and we want everyone to be content. During peak demand times, we ask for a bit of understanding and respect for our work and customers. We hope you come back and have the chance to change your opinion. Greetings and thank you!

EGGS BENEDICT - Edit
I saw a hundred photos of the eggs benedict so I couldn't wait to try them! They are as amazing as the photos, more I won't say. You have to get there and try yourself, just mindblowing!
Read moreWe also tried the nachos, salad and big portion of chips, all were great. The only thing I would add is that eating there during the heat of the day is challenging as you'll feel overwhelmed by the large amounts and the pressing Madrid summer.
I will definitely return, what a gem of a restaurant! Also a shout out to our waiters, incredibly kind.
Pros: The eggs are not to be missed, Large amounts of lush food , Fully vegan
Cons: During the summer it's very hot (doors open)

Mind blowing - Edit
The classic eggs Benedict was absolutely mind blowing! It is a must. I would eat it all the time if I lived nearby. The ‘hollandaise sauce’ is perfection! I never had such a realistic vegan egg. The bbq pulled pork sandwich was amazing as well. It was the best vegan pork I have had. The bread they use for these dishes is fluffy and yummy. Both of these dishes will leave you feeling very full and satisfied. Make sure to eat here!! It was so incredible.

Holy Cow! - Edit
This was my first brunch stop in Madrid. I expected, like most brunch places in America to be super busy on a Sunday but it was a quick seat for 1. I had the Truffles Eggs Benedict and it was amazing. You can break the “egg” so the yolk falls on the bread. Had a Bloody Mary that looked like a smoothie when it arrived. Super tasty. I thought I would not finish it and would be super full, but surprisingly, it was felt light and satisfying.

A lot of the components of their dishes have been developed quite innovatively. The poached eggs are incredible and I haven't had anything that came this close to the original. As someone who misses poached eggs, it made me very happy.

Wow - Edit
We almost didn't come here because the name combined with the picture of granola led us to believe it was just a vegan smoothie/breakfast kinda place. How wrong we were, so glad we came in the end as they had amazing lunch, brunch and burger/sandwich options. The vegan eggs Benedict was something I'll be thinking about for a long time, absolutely sensational, the chef deserves a whole lot of credit for crafting that. Worth a visit for that alone but a whole host of delicious offerings in total, especially the red velvet cake

Insane for breakfast - Edit
The options are just incredible. I haven’t been for lunch or dinner but the breakfast is just great. I went three times and took all my friends. I have tried the French toast, the pancakes and the eggs venedict. The eggs were unbelievable I was scared because it tasted exactly like egg and all my friends thought it was crazy too. The sourdough brioche it comes on is also great. The pancakes are thick American ones with a great presentation, I would personally get the açai ones to soften the taste of the pancakes. However, the French toast was very oily so it was not my favourite. They also do many lattes: I tried the golden latte and the blue latte and they were lovely. Do not miss out if you are in Madrid… if you miss eggs you will not be disappointed

Pros: Variedad, Ingredientes frescos, Buena comida
Cons: Ruidoso en fin de semana

Lovely place and vibe, interior design is modern and relaxing, staff members have all been super friendly and attentive, everybody was speaking English and Spanish.
Read moreThey offer oat, soy and almond milk and my Matcha Latte with almond milk was good! On the menu they have several variations of vegan Eggs Benedict which they said they make out of vegetable protein, tofu and algae! Very impressive stuff and they resemble real eggs pretty well. Also their vegan bacon was excellent!
Fair prices for an all vegan restaurant in Madrid I would say :)
