A chance to snack in the Old Street - Edit

This mushroom vendor probably won't be your best meal in Taiwan, but it's worth picking up a pottle of fried mushrooms to munch on as you walk down the waterfront.

The vendor has a small green stall with a large vegetarian ('su') sign, just before the Tamsui Pier when coming from Tamsui. They should all be vegan as they're just mushrooms deep fried in a batter, which I think is just flour and water.

Tamsui has a real lack of good veg options. I recommend snacking here and then having a proper meal on the way back to Taipei, preferably at Yummy Vegan House or one of Beitou's other restaurants.

On a side note, more delicious, healthier mushrooms, grilled over a flame, can be had at the Raohe Street Night Market.

Pros: cheap, right on waterfront, all vegan

Cons: deep fried so very greasy and not health
