Good Brunch Spot

I've been to this location a few times.

Today at brunch I had the grilled cheese and avocado which comes with homefries or salad. I opted for the side salad.

The caesar salad was really flavourful. It was uber garlicky which I personally love! The sourdough bread was yummy, and the toastie was chock-full of filling (cheeses, arugula, tomato and avocado) with a nice mayo.

Food is a little hit or miss. I didn't love the bowl I had on my last visit, but the buffalo wrap and quinoa onion rings I had another time were great - making Fresh worth a visit overall!

(Pic. Of my grilled cheese, and my friends' Almond Butter French Toast which she said was tasty, not greasy, but very filling).

Great Options

Love the range of options here, seemed to be a rarity in Toronto when it comes to Vegan food. I had the dumplings, bbq burger and green smoothie and all were delicious, highly recommend!

Stick to the burgers

I've been to Fresh a few times now and I would highly recommend sticking with the burgers, that's definitely their strongest offering. I have tried their wraps, but they are underwhelming. The burgers are pretty great though, as are their extensive offering of different kinds of fries and their toppings. Good selection of hot and cold drinks.

Pros: Burgers, Fries, Tumeric latte

Cons: Anything other than the burgers are underwhelming, Can be pricey

Great food

Nice to have tasty options that aren’t ‘comfort food.’ I enjoyed the dragon broccoli and watermelon ceviche.

It's a chain so you know what to expect.

The food's fine, nothing mind-blowing but you'll walk away content. The prices have gone up steadily over the years, and their menu isn't what it used to be. It's clear the buy-out of the chain did a number on their over all quality-to-value balance.

But it's fine, you have your favourites, you know what to expect, and they delivery. Can't ask for a lot more.

Pros: Decent food, Serves alcohol, Air-conditioned

Cons: Over-priced for what you get, Menu used to be bigger and better

Hit and miss

The spicy sausage pizza and buffalo cauliflower are fantastic, but they've got some major flaws in their menu as well. For example, the avocado toast is guacamole spread onto bread, covered in tasteless tofu crumble and an amount of arugula that makes me think you're trying to hide the rest of the toast. Their "bowls" and dragon fries are also a huge miss for me. Overall, they're fine I guess, but tbh if you're in the Queen West area there's just way better vegan places to eat.

Pros: Spicy sausage pizza, Usually friendly staff

Cons: Many food items were just not good, A bit pricey

Vegan Poutine!

Need I say more? I was so excited to try this quintessential Canadian dish during my trip to Toronto, and this did not disappoint. Given the heaviness of fries, gravy, and cheese, I was surprised at how light everything still felt. I even had room for an entree afterwards.

Also tried the classic hot chocolate, something I haven’t had in a long time. Tastes even better than the real thing!

Pros: All vegan, Friendly staff, Romantic

Cons: Expensive

Great options for non-Veg family

My parents sometimes give me a hard time about taking them to vegan places but they love Fresh. My mom loves their squash tacos, my dad their tiger bowl, and I love their burgers and quinoa onion rings with aioli.

Lots of options

The wait line was long when I went there (labour day, in the middle of the afternoon), plus there was only the patio that was opened, there is no seating area inside, but the wait was worth it. They have a system that you don’t actually have to wait in line, they take your name and you can go around. When your table is ready, they send you a text message. I had the essential greens bowl, it was good. I really liked the tofu steak, it was crispy outside and tender inside.

Pros: Lots of options

Fresh, tasty food. Nice atmosphere.

I tired their seasonal soup (which was butternut and pear) and their goddess bowl. Both we fresh looking and quite tasty. Nice atmosphere, especially on a sunny day as they have outdoor seating.

Really tasty VGF

I had the small Buddha bowl, which was a VERY generous portion for one very hungry gal. Fries and miso gravy very tasty too. I'm saving the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake for later but it looks yummy. Hot chocolate hit the spot after a cold afternoon. Highly recommend and I'll definitely be back when next in Toronto.

Pros: All vegan , Tons of gf options / easy to identify on menu/app, Very tasty!

Toronto Staple.

Fresh is a vegan staple in Toronto, and they know it. They have really good food, but their menu is getting a little old. They need to try out some new options and techniques to keep people coming.

Pros: Large Menu, Great Juice, Best Avocado Toast

Cons: A bit pricey, Crowded, tables are too close together, Zero privacy

Hit 'n' miss with food items you pick, plus expensive!

The "Supergreen Caesar" is a far cry from a Caesar salad -- it's over-glorified beyond recognition, so I wouldn't call it a Caesar unless the intent is to set you up with false expectations. It comes with imitation fish flavouring which was too overpowering (I guess to mimic anchovies?) and it kind of ruined it for us. We paid $4.50 for the added crispy chick'n only to find we got two pathetic thumb-sized nuggets added off to the side. Shame!

The nachos are amazing but the chorizo was heavily salted!

Drink choices are restricted to expensive juices/shakes/etc. and their own expensive "house-made sodas" instead of carrying soft drinks.

Overall it's okay and the cold-pressed juices taste good, but they are definitely into gouging!

Always delicious

Fresh is a staple in Toronto. They have an enormous vegan or vegetarian menu, always produce excellent food, and add new items to the menu every month. Fresh juices and vegan desserts are available. Try their famous onion rings, super good!

Pros: Big menu, all veg/vegan

Cons: Can get expensive

A staple

This has been a staple restaurant of mine for almost 20 years, ever since they were a juice bar in Le Château on Queen. It is my overall favorite vegetarian restaurant in Toronto, so many options and everything always is tasty.

Pros: Wide variety of menu items

Always "Fresh"

tiger bowl is incredible, the juices and smoothies are great, although they should implement at least all the apples, celery and cucumber to be organic. they have a good selection of sweets from the earth desserts. also an amazing brunch too! the full breakfast is my fav!

Pros: fresh food, healthy options, very tasty

Cons: pricey, doesn't abide by the dirty dozen :(, not 100% vegan (although it's mostly)

a vegan staple!

the first vegan food i ever had in Toronto, back in the late 90's and i still go! this location is the quietest (still a bit boisterous though at peak times), but the food is consitently good whichever location you choose. i no longer eat soy but the staff can be pretty accomadating about it, and there is a gluten free menu. huge selection of juices with a 'build your own' option.

Pros: substantial portions, good variety, accomadating

Cons: not organic, can be loud, often crowded (which is a good sign too!
