Opened Sept 2010, this upscale vegan restaurant serves food and drinks using natural ingredients. Menu includes burgers, sandwiches, panini, day's soup, organic salads, Belgium waffles (mornings only) and oatmeal. The glass case display features muffins, cakes, and various desserts. Choice of soy, almond, or hemp milk for your drinks. Has fresh juices. Open Mon-Sat 11:00am-8:00pm.

Read moreI’m a big fan of their various white creamy pastas, including the gnocchi, I always add their chicken if it’s not included already. I also love their curry Ramen, and a few of their paninis. Alfalfa sprout sandwich & Panini Frittata. I also love their Caesar salad with added chicken.I haven’t been there for brunch yet, but maybe that will change soon. Started eating here October 2023 I believe

I greatly enjoyed the panini , but after seeing a fake news sign that the owners posted on the hostess station I immediately ordered to go. In such tumultuous times to intentionally share fear mongering apocalyptic stories without creditable sources listed feels beyond cringe. I can’t feel good about patronizing this restaurant again. As a vegan it takes a lot to not support a vegan business.

We needed to spend the day in the Irvine area, and I happened to spot Freesoulcaffe on Happy Cow. It was a sunny, warm afternoon, and with two dogs in tow, we headed over around noon and snagged an outdoor table.
Read moreNot only was the service outstanding, our server, unasked, brought a small bowl of water for our dogs. That's never happened before, and I was touched by the thoughtfulness.
I ordered the FSC salad, which had a lot of my favorite veggies, and my husband got one of their burgers. One of the best fake meat burgers I've ever tasted -- apparently made with a mushroom base and nut-free for people with allergies. I'm glad he gave me a taste because that burger disappeared in about a minute.
The outdoor patio is tranquil, and in a different life, I would have been tempted to stay there the whole afternoon. Thanks, Happy Cow, for helping me make a great choice!

I’ve been dining here since their soft opening (and miss the cake display!) I used to come on breaks with a college friend between classes and now only come to treat myself. My go to beverage is the matcha granita as it’s the only thing I can decide on. Between sandwiches, ramen, and breakfast options I really struggle to make choices. Some of my favorites are the Hatch burger, the Continental Breakfast, and the Panini Frittata. I also have a tendency to order key lime cheesecake despite being stuffed. The atmosphere is cool and sophisticated but relaxed and casual. On this particular visit I ordered the Smoked Ham sandwich with a side order of the Soup du Jour, butternut squash. Never a let down for flavor! My previous visit did surprise me as I wanted to have a drink and cake before my hair appointment across the street but they deemed it take out only unless you order an entree, I’m not sure how long that has been in practice or if it will continue but something to be aware of.
