Accomodating! - Edit
Frary's was conveniently close to our hotel and also was accommodating to vegetarians which we found only one other place that was vegetarian/vegan in Venice. The lady (assuming it was the owner) gave us English menus right away, she was welcoming and friendly. She gave us suggestions on two options that we couldn't decide on, although I'm not one to eat meat very often I did try their chicken, raisin, walnuts and honey dish with rice. This was extremely flavorful and I loved it! My friend had tuna with vegetables and rice, and liked it as well. The dishes were not big portions for the 18 euros spent. We also tried their greek yogurt and cucumber dip, which was good, nothing special but because their dips seem to be 'signature' I would suggest having a 'signature' side that came along with it, not just pita bread that was already given. Maybe homemade crackers, rice cakes, etc.
Read moreWe ended up going back before leaving Venice (forgetting how pricey it was) and I was a bit disappointed. I had chicken again with pomegranate seeds and their was absolutely no flavor to this, I had to ask for a side of honey to add something to it (this was even suggested by our waitress as it was one of her favorites). My friend had the vegetarian cous cous which she said was good but nothing special.
Suggestion: spice it up a bit and change the entree presentation! : )

This was quite a walk from where we were staying but well worth it. The staff were happy to say what was vegan or could be made vegan. Had a great starter platter with lovely fresh veg and salad alongside hummus etc, amazing bread. Both mains were lovely and then very tasty ice cream for dessert. Good choice of soft drinks too, had a pomegranate spritz which went well with the meal. Very good food

We were struggling to find somewhere good for vegan food in our first night in Venice and we're glad we found Frarys- we had a vegan mezze starter to share which was absolutely tremendous. The mains of tagine and biriyani were decent too. Good service and a really cool spot. Would recommend.

This restaurant had multiple tables available and helpful staff. We ordered the falafel appetizer (contains 3 falafel and a dollop of hummus); this typically comes with pita, but they provided prepackaged GF vegan rice cakes for us due to our dietary restrictions. We also ordered the biriani, along with a rice dish with carrots, raisins, potatoes, almonds, peas, chickpeas, and hummus (could be vegetarian but omitted yogurt for vegan). These were almost all of the dish options that were both GF and vegan, and they were tasty.

There are quite a number of Vegan options, and they do an excellent job catering and explaining the menu. The staff were very helpful. Portion sizes were large and service was great. Fairly flexible for gluten free as well.

After a week travelling in Italy, we fancied something a bit different so decided to try Frary's Mediterranean cuisine. So glad we did - romantic candlelit restaurant, incredible food (we really wanted dessert but physically couldn't eat more...) and helpful staff. Menu is clearly labelled with vegan/ gluten free and we were asked whether we had any dietary requirements and showed what was available accordingly. Recommend the vegan mixed antipasto - it is big though, we probably didn't need main courses after!!

A other reviewers have said, this spot is great at providing spice and flavor otherwise sought after in a city with few vegan options. The falafel was some of the best I've ever had, the couscous delicious, and they even have several vegan desserts. Everything is clearly labeled and you can sit outside along the canal. Must go in venice for Mediterranean food!
