Great tacos

Tried their limited special pineapple tacos which were fantastic. The waitress was friendly and explained the owner set a dedicated vegan menu.

Pros: Good food, Dedicated vegan menu, Friendly staff

Worth your time

Decent amount of options and they are very delicious. Get there when they open on the weekends or you’re gonna wait a while for a table.

Awesome first visit, many vegan (and veg) options

The Inn has ample parking, and on a Friday late afternoon/early evening, they need it. We were able to be seated as soon as we arrived, perhaps around 4:20 pm, table for two. We had great service with servers muy amable/very friendly and it felt genuine. Good start. We explored the menu options while we munched on corn chips and very good salsa.

There apparently is a "Chef's Special" each week, but in actuality, it's TWO. One for the eaters regular menu, and one for plant-based eaters. I got the plant-based one:
"Veggie Diablo Burrito - House seasoned roasted cauliflower, artichokes, sauteed peppers and onions, beans, and rice rolled into a flour tortilla. Our spicy diablo sauce (sweetened with mango). Sunflower crema drizzle. Avocado slices and two house sides."

Though it is listed as Veggie, it's actually vegan and the menu is clearly marked as to what is in each selection. Furthermore, I found the server (who isn't vegan but enjoys vegan food) very very knowledgeable and any questions either of us had were answered intelligently and with a great deal of care and interest. We ended up having a conversation about vegan ingredients, the reasoning behind their uses, and where to find other vegan resources for food items in the county-wide area. She actually suggested that if we come back on a day other than a weekend, like a Tuesday, to ask for her so that we could continue our conversation.

One of us needs to be gluten free due to a strong intolerance (not an allergy and they don't have a separate kitchen.) and this also was greeted with aplomb and figured out within mere seconds. I truly applaud the overall feel of the Inn, with great service, very very fresh food with creative plant-based options (not just broccoli, or mashed potatoes, or french fries) and that anyone can come and enjoy a group meal where all are welcome and have fabulous choices. Will return soon.

There is ample outdoor dining space for when better weather returns, and the noise level inside the restaurant was comfortable in spite of being packed by the time we finished our meal. This is HUGE for my sensitive ears.

PS: Ladies room was neat, clean and had a pleasant aroma, not over-powering or cloying to spoil your nasal passages and tastebuds! According to the hub, men's room typical of old guys and kids using it, not dirty but what he called a 'typical mens' room experience. Consumables were stocked, no gross messes.'

Pros: Original, creative plant based options, house made, Great service, knowledgeable server, Easy to interact with owner via messaging

Meh at best

I had high hopes because I heard the owner is vegan and was also told it’s the oldest Mexican restaurant in Allegheny County. We were interested in trying the specials and the first three things we attempted to order we were told they were not available because they were the previous specials, even though they were still on the digital menu and on the TV displays. Once we ordered, we waited over an hour for our food. When the food finally arrived mine was wrong and not vegan and my partner’s fish was burnt. My order was corrected but the food was under seasoned and lacked flavor, making it overall very underwhelming. The food was meh at best.

Cons: Long wait , Under seasoned food, Stereotypical “Mexican” decor

Inventive weekly vegan specials and many options

With a vegan owner, the restaurant is upping its plant based game. There are multiple vegetarian and vegan options plus weekly vegan specials that are truly unique.

Previously, we visited this neighborhood restaurant known for their margaritas very rarely but have been going many times a month with this new focus. I am surprised by the variety and creativity of the specials.

Tonight, I had sweet potato and poblano cakes topped with mushrooms and sunflower cream and accompanied by grilled asparagus and mango and jicama slaw. Some other specials have been hibiscus tacos, cauliflower crust pizza with vegan chorizo, mushroom enchiladas, cauliflower tacos with cucumber mango salsa.

Seriously impressed and thrilled to have more good vegan options in the northern suburbs.

Delicious, Inclusive, Creative, Fun!

Our group of 8 all really enjoyed creative and delicious dishes for all tastes and dietary needs: vegan, vegetarian, omnivore, oil-free WFPB, gluten-free. I really appreciated the separate plant-based menu and that even the specials had a vegan alternative suggested that I did not have to special order myself. The sunflower crema - can’t get enough! My daughter enthusiastically remarked that she could not believe that there were so many plant-based options at one (mainstream) restaurant! We now have a favorite go-to place that we can enjoy with all of our friends and still have a variety of creative and tasty plant-based dishes to choose from. Note: Happy Cow only allows five stars for fully vegan restaurants, otherwise this review would be a whole-hearted five stars!

Pros: Separate Plant-Based Menu, Beautiful, creative, delicious food, Health-conscious yet indulgent tasting

Cons: Wish we lived closer, but will gladly make the tri

Huge disappointment

I heard great things about this place and it was a huge let down. I got the green vegan burrito with rice and beans on the side. I placed the order over the phone and went to pick it up. They said 35 minutes on the phone. I waited an additional 30 minutes and my food wasn’t even hot. The vegetables inside the burrito (bell peppers, broccoli, mushrooms and zucchini) had no flavor at all. They were barely even cooked. The burrito didn’t come with sauce on it like the description said. All I ended up eating was the rice and beans because there was no saving the burrito. In this economy for what I paid I’m pissed. Go to chipotle! This was not worth the drive and aggravation.

Pros: Good rice and refried beans

Cons: Bland, Cold, Basic

I’m so sorry for your experience. We have delicious vegan options. I’m vegan and eat them everyday. I wish this would not have happened to you because I’m trying to encourage more people to eat vegan and this review distresses me because you were unhappy and I know we could have served you something wonderful.. I double checked with my staff because the vegan burrito does not even come with the filling you mention in your review didn’t make sense. It sounds like there was a miscommunication. You were not given the Colorado green Chile vegan burrito. They thought you ordered the regular burrito minus the meat, cheese, etc and wanted just the add on. veggies. I would not have enjoyed that burrito either. The regular hand rolled burrito doesn’t come with that sauce so that is why it was missing. It was a completely different item than you intended to order. Hope you will try again. Ask for Wendy or Phillip. We have even more vegan options now. I’d love to talk to you and give you suggestions.
