Great vegan francesinha - Edit
From someone that used to eat these religiously as an omnivore growing up, i found the francesinhas pretty great. Sauce is good, cheeky chips on the side, and of course a (few) imperiais! 🍻

Simply the best 💋 - Edit
First time trying a Vegan Francesinha and it was an amazing experience! I had the Seitan Francesinha and it was delicious, it fills you up very quickly but is so worth it! The staff were so friendly and happy, always making us laugh. The place is very calm and has lots of space. You definitely need to check it out!!

Good option when travelling in a group - Edit
We came here as two of us were vegan and two not in our group and we all wanted to try the Francesinha. The vegan version was good, I feel they could have taken a bit more time to melt the cheese (vegan cheese takes a bit longer to get the melt you would want for this dish), we tried the tofu version but I think I would try for the seitan version next time, I think it would go better rather than slices of tofu. Overall good experience, friendly staff, the starter and the vegan cheesecake was also very nice.

Best Vegan Francesinha and Pica Pau - Edit
We visited Al Forno last week during the afternoon and were glad to see that there was a variety of vegan francesinhas and also a couple of vegan starters and desserts.
Read moreThe place is a bit dark, no music and football on TV so it probably has a better atmosphere at night.
We had a tofu francesinha, pica pau, fries and cheesecake for dessert. The francesinha was delicious, probably the best we had so far, because of it's simplicity and lightness. The pica pau was also well prepared and the mix of sweet, sour and spicy sauce was perfect.
The cheesecake was nice but it was more of a mousse because of the whipped cream I suppose.
Overall, it was a good experience and we'll surely recommend and revisit when we can.

Decepcionante - Edit
Pros: Opciones vegetarianas
Cons: Platos congelados, Sabor de los platos

Surprisingly good francesinha - Edit
I didn’t think that I would like this dish (francesinha) but I did. It was fresh out of the oven. I got the tempeh version. I also had the wild berry vegan cheesecake which was also awesome

I always find myself returning to this restaurant. The sassyness of the waitstaff, the tasty francesinha, the tasty drinks. I just dont love their deserts and looks like since it was re-purchased it changed in quality.

Rico - Edit
No especialmente bonito.

didn’t love it, but would probably recommend - Edit
first things first - i’ve never tried the “real”, non-vegan francesinhas, so it could be that i just don’t love the taste in general.
Read morewhile i found my tempeh francesinha lacking in flavour, the tempeh itself banged.
the service is good if you’re ready to spend a lot of money, but they did treat us visibly differently since we only wanted a francesinha each + fries.
however, they do have a very decent selection of vegan options. good place to eat with omni companions
Pros: vegan menu, location
Cons: food wasn’t amazing, service

A truly disappointing meal. Greacy, overly salted. And on top of that flies around our table. This is a tourist grab. Definitely a regrettable stop, I felt nauseous after two bites. The olives were good so thats one thing

It’s the most tasty vegan francesinha that I ever had ! I choosed the tempeh francesinha and it was a blast. The vegan menu offers you a lots of options, also we order first the “the cogumelos à bulhão pato” it was also good but it was missing a little bit more of flavor. The rest was perfect!

This restaurant has an amazing venue in the centro of Oporto.

The tempeh francesinha is heaven sent.

It is not expensive at all, unless you ask for Oporto wine sangria (but it’s so worthy).

The place to try the vegan Francesinha - Edit
Take the suggestion from this local Porto guide: this is the place to try the vegan Francesinha. I've been around most places that serve vegetarian / vegan francesinhas (I'm from here and I loved Francesinhas before changing my diet) and this is the best at the moment. There are other options, but in my opinion this is the version that is most respectful to the original meat version. It serves the meat version as well so it's a good place to take a mixed group of people.
