A second world war theme following the Foyles War TV series, which was set in Hastings. CONFIRMED CLOSED, JULY 2016. Open Tue-Fri 11:30am-3:30pm, Sat 11:30am-5:00pm, Sun 11:30am-3:00pm.

Sporadic opening times? - Edit
I have not had the chance to visit this cafe, as I have tried three times to visit it on various Sunday lunchtimes (when it is apparently open) but have found it closed every time, in contradiction to the sign in the window. One Sunday I tried to go it was closed at 12ish when I tried to go, then when I walked past again at 3pm it was open??
I would still love to visit this place but have had quite annoying experiences so far );
EDIT: have now managed to visit. The food is tasty although the pie does not come with peas, you have to order them separately apparently. Really enjoyed my meal and have no complaints.
Pros: very keen to try the vegan pies, good location on sea front near other attractions

Comfort food on a rainy day - Edit
This is a friendly little place on the front at Hastings. They literally serve pie and mash. There are two choices vegan 'mince' or meat and you can add peas or beans.The mash is Smash! You choose from one pie one mash, one pie two mash, two pies one mash ... you get the idea and add peas or beans as an extra. It is a quirk little place and the owner is very friendly and chatty. Ideal comfort food on a typical British summer day!
