Limited vegan choices

This is an updated review. I've down graded from 3 stars to 1. As sadly the menu has changed and now there's one vegan sandwich one starter and one main on the menu.

This is somewhat of a gastro pub. It used to be a good option to go with omnivores. I certainly won't be in any hurry to go back again. To be fair the prices are reasonable & portion sizes good. Sadly they no longer offer a vegan dessert.

In the past I've eaten a very good buckwheat, broad bean and chickpea salad which was delicious and very filling.

This time around I ordered the only starter, "hummus olive tapenade and pomegranate glaze with rustic bread" What actually arrived was a decent sized bowl of hummus with a dollop of olive tapenade in the middle and a slice of what appeared to be thin supermarket sandwich brown bread. There was way too much hummus compared to bread and I ended up eating the hummus and tapenard with a fork (waste not want not). It was lovely.

For the main I ordered the "crispy beetroot and vegan feta salad" which was supposed to come with a "lemon and chickpea dressing". There was no dressing and the salad aside from the beetroot falafels and feta was made up of mixed salad leaves red onion and cherry tomatoes. It was disappointing.

After the meal none of the omnivores wanted a dessert so we ordered coffees. I asked for a cappuccino with soya milk. Sadly they had no non-dairy milk alternatives. Neither did they have any decaf. All in all what used to be a fair option for vegans going to eat out with omnivores has sadly changed into a "let's try somewhere else please".

There are much better places to eat close by for vegans.
