Quick, well priced and delicious! - Edit

Their food is extremely well priced with big portions. Absolutely delicious and a tonne of vegan options. One of the best places to visit in Perth for vegan eats and quick service.

Pros: Cheap, Delicious, Quick, friendly service

Good for those that miss meat! - Edit

I recently went to Formosa for a second time, having gone a few years ago, so I was curious te see what my reaction would be this time.

The first time I was panicking as I thought it tasted so much like meat that I was eating it, but of course it was fully vegetarian! I think I had ordered a sizzling "steak" or something of the sort.

This time I ordered the vegan curry laksa noodle soup which came with vegan crab, vegan chicken and tofu as well as some vegetables. The flavours and textures were good although I would have liked more vegetables. We also ordered spring rolls and the sizzling squid rings, both of which tasted great.

Although Formosa definitely isn't "cosy", it's great if you're craving non-vegan/vegetarian food, and really I go just for the novelty.

Service is okay. if you're in the area and want to try mock meats, this is definitely the place to go to.

Pros: Lots of dishes can be made vegan, Mock meats that taste like the real thing

Cons: Restaurant not very cosy

fantastic flavours- they know how to season! - Edit

So impressed with Formosa, so many places struggle to adequately season vegetarian and vegan dishes but these guys are fantastic! Casual dining with self ordering (huge plus as numbered items eliminate any lost in translation issues) and self service from the cutlery, crockery and tea station. Review below re: tea didn't apply when we visited, it was your standard delicious jasmine tea. Honey 'chicken' was amazing, so much better than any meat version I've had in terms of flavour, texture and batter. Sauce on satay 'beef' was delicious but not enough for the amount of 'meat'. Generally very impressed with food, though the prices aren't all that cheap and the decor is akin to a food court, the taste is really worth it. We. look forward to making this a regular family haunt.

decent food but don't drink the tea - Edit

they give you some tea that smells like frangipani whether you want it or not and it's really disgusting. Don't eat the mock meat, it's kind of rubbery and dry. The fried rice and chips are good though and i took home the rest of my rice as it was lovely but i was full.

Pros: nice location, peaceful, they don't serve murdered animals

Cons: the tea, the mock meat is dry and rubbery, bit far to go for fried rice
