Lovely food!

They changed the interior decoration of the place in the beginning of 2020 and it totally looks better! They also have a store and a frozen section for different goodies.

2017/11/16: Me and my partner tried the chestnut lamb slices with vegetables and rice, as well as the BBQ Duck with fresh veggies and rice. Both dishes were delicious and were accompanied by a lentil soup which had a very nice creamy consistency. Will come back for sure!

Pros: Decent prices , Friendly staff

FULLY VEGAN

Nice little place, you can walk by and miss it! Lovely food and friendly helpful staff, speak English and will help you decipher the menu! Vegan versions of typical ‘Austrian’ and ‘western’ foods or traditional and delicious curries. We’ll be back!

Pros: Great and friendly staff, Amazing curries, Vegan ‘Austrian’ food if you want it

Great food and helpful staff

They had a variety of vegan asian dishes as well as smaller snacks and desserts. Everything tasted delicious and the portions were satisfying. The lady working there was polite and tried to be as helpful as possible even though she didn't speak english. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that i would like if it was a bit cleaner or the space better arranged/decorated.

Pros: Big variety, Delicious food, Ok prices for Vienna

Cons: Not as clean as i would like

Slightly misleading but definitely veg!

The menus require some deciphering but the waiter was very helpful and the food quite delicious. The “fish burger” was fishy (in a good way) and the “chicken burger” was also quite nice. Would recommend!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Tastes great, Not expensive

Would not necessarily visit again

I've eaten at Formosa's few time couple of years ago, when it wasn't fully vegan yet. To be honest, it wasn't great back then but still better as it's now.
Back then the labelling was already confusing, because it would say chicken or duck or any meat without indicating that it was mock meat. Now even more puzzling. Allegedly all vegan, but menu still lists items containing dairy.
It has always been more the take-away kind of eatery, a bit run down, just not in the charming kind of way.
This time I had the duck menu which was simply an Asian main with vegetables and mock meat. Nothing resembled duck at all. Not the taste, not the look, not the arrangement. The soup that came with it was with few mushrooms, flour, garlic and nothing else. Very odd (and not very good).
Also the whole concept is odd - at first glance Asian, they seem to predominantly offer French fries, schnitzel, potatoes - don't get it.
Food was alright (except soup), although it had a strong artifical note to it.
Staff is friendly. Pricewise ok.

Pros: friendly staff, inexpensive, central

Cons: run down, weird concept, average food

So many better options in the city

We mainly came here to try the vegan version of a schnitzel, ordered that, along with the cordon blue and dumplings. The dumplings and French fries were probably the best part of the meal but I wasn’t even all that impressed with those. The cordon blue had good flavor but the ‘meat’ was very chewy, which freaked me out and it was quite oily. The schnitzel had almost no flavor and was very oily as well. Definitely a junk food type place but not a good one at that...the best description I can give is saying that I felt like we were eating a frozen dinner. There are so many incredible vegan restaurants in Vienna and I highly recommend going elsewhere! Giving this 2 stars since they are completely vegan and at least trying to do some good for the planet.

Pros: All vegan, Decent pieces , Cute outdoor seating

Cons: Little flavor in the ‘Austrian’ food options, Unhealthy and salty, Menu’s weren’t descriptive enough

A bit underwhelming

Just tried the menu with cordon blue.. the "ham" was too realistic and actually made me feel uncomfortable and suspicious! Apart from that the dish didn't taste healthy or very good. Salad was so basic. Potato salad was only thing that was actually good. Not the cheapest in relation to other restaurants (some very nearby) providing similarly priced menu deals but much higher quality in ingredients and flavor. Still if you want junk food type stuff this might hit the spot? I'm willing to try again.

Delicious!

The food tasted really good and the fake meat was so close to actual meat! I don’t usually like food that comes this close to animal product food, but this time i did. The tofu curry was also very nice, for when you don’t want mock meat. The portions were large and much worth the price!

Pros: Friendly staff, Big portions, A cute area to sit outside next to a nice street

Friendliness makes up for the quality of the food

The main thing about this place is that everyone here is so unbelievably warm-hearted and friendly. You really feel like they care about your experience here. There is always a smile, and this attitude just boosts your mood!

The space itself looks a bit like it's undergoing renovations, and I thought I even smelled fresh paint.

The tea is just regular bagged tea, nothing special. The soup I got as a starter was okay. For the main dish, I tried to get something a bit more different so I went for the pancakes filled with vegan ham and vegetables. The portion was huge and definitely very filling, but the pancake filling was too salty. I was a bit disappointed, but would maybe come back to give them a second chance as they were really so full of positive energy.

Pros: Extremely friendly, Creative choices

Cons: Too salty, Not very pretty or cozy

100% vegan

It’s 100% vegan restaurant and grocery shop (I asked) even though they still have an old menus with vegetarian options in and the world “vegetarian” on the signboard.
Indoor is smelly cause it’s close to the kitchen but there’re enough seats outside.
Service is very friendly and fast, prices are affordable and the food is tasty.
Dumplings are yummy! And small wrap wasn’t actually so small.
I loved prawns but I’d recommend you to ask to make it not deep fried - in my opinion it’s hard to feel the taste of prawns themselves.
Anyway - a good place to stop by.
Also they have a lil shop with lots of vegan meat, fish, seafood, sweets etc.

Pros: 100% vegan, Tasty, Good price

Cons: Smell from the kitchen

Probably good

We ordered the teriyaki beef and kimchi noodle, neither of which were recommended by other people below and we wouldn’t recommend them either as they did not have very interesting flavours. It would have probably been good if we’d stuck with the recommendations. However the owners were friendly and they had a good range of vegan mock meat products for sale.

Cozy but impressive

The restaurant is small and cozy, the food is very good (we had dumplings and fried noodles with "duck") and you can even buy some ingredients (we got some "duck" as it was delicious), the staff is friendly and we felt at home - very good prices, too, for the generous portions.

Pros: Lovely food, You can purchase some of the mock meat

Cons: Small, not for a big party

great food lovely staff

We stopped here for an early evening meal - the food was great I had a vegan schnitzel and my husband had some vegetable and chestnut stir fry. You can have soup or salad with your main, we both had soup which was wonderful! The staff are all really lovely and helpful I would highly reccomend for a casual lunch or dinner.

Pros: lots of vegan options

Great

We were greeted by the lovely owners who were very welcoming and we enjoyed a tasty meal.
Everything is vegan and if you take a main course you can choose between a salad or a soup as your starter. We had the BBQ duck and spinach schnitzels with potato salad. Both were very well made and it was plenty.
A lovely experience all-round, I would come here again.

Best meal of our trip!

Was met by a lovely welcome by the staff, followed by some amazing food. My wife had the Thai curry and I had the Japanese. The dishes were both incredibly tasty and the mock meats were very well made. Even the basic soup starter was a joy. The outside seating was pleasant and cosy. Definitely make a special trip if you like Asian food.

Pros: Lots of different options. Super tasty.

Cons: None for us

delicious

we went here for lunch and had soup + dish ( menu ). Daily soup was creamy vegetable soup which was delicious, and the soy steak in black pepper sauce was so realistic that I started to doubt whether it is really vegan. There's a huge selection of mock meats to buy.

Pros: tasty, affordable
