Picturesque vegan restaurant - Edit
This is a picturesque fully vegan restaurant, literally a famous sculpture tour groups visit. It's right in the center of the old town. I had a wrap and a juice ( they were out of homemade Kombucha) and a cake and homemade Ice cream on Fri lunch, and came back for Saturday breakfast and had waffles and coffee. Staff are friendly and have great English. It's been established since 2023. Only downside was no menu in English, so I just used my translate photo app to order. Great outdoor seating on a not so busy yet pleasant street in the old town.

Das Essen ist zum grossen Teil lecker. Die Preise sind aber horrend, was ich aufgrund der Bio- und Demeterqualität auch nachvollziehen könnte. Leider steht aber der Service in einem extremen Kontrast zum Preis. Lange Wartezeiten, egal auf was, Bestellungen werden falsch aufgenommen oder vergessen und gestresst/eingeschüchtert wirkende Mitarbeitende. Letztere können aber wahrscheinlich nur wenig für das Ganze. Sehr schade.

On a short visit to St. Gallen we were looking for a nice vegan restaurant and stumbled upon the Pelikan. We ordered the Superior Breakfast for 2 people to share, and it was simply amazing. So many different things to try along with fresh bread and waffles. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and it really was a special treat.

Nice vibe and delicious food. Almost everything is made in-house. I like that they offer classic local dishes like Bärlauchspätzli. The staff were friendly and attentive, but we had to wait a very long time for our food (1 hour for starters and another 40 minutes for the mains).
