Nice selection that other places do not have - Edit
I go here for select items. For the most part a pretty good selection although I am bummed that a couple of my staples they no longer carry.

A lovely place - Edit
I actually worked here for a year and can confirm that the management is lovely and consist of good, hardworking people. There are plenty of vegan choices and even some delicious vegan options fresh from the deli (vegan BLT, vegan “egg” salad, veggie wraps, etc). There are nice bulk, beauty, and supplements sections and lots of organic produce! Please support this employee-owned, local, health food store so that big corporations like Whole Foods (who purposefully built right across the street from FFL) don’t squash these awesome local businesses!

Fun place to explore in East Lansing - Edit
I was at the local thrift store when I saw the Food for Living store so I decided to go in and look around. The prices are pretty steep, but they have so many fun things to explore and gain inspiration from. There were things at this store I didn't even know could be made vegan. I definitely can't afford to shop there regular (I'm on a student budget) but it is a nice place to explore and maybe shop at in the future when money isn't as tight!

I love this place! - Edit
You get what you pay for--quality food, health items, and household products. I only get what I need or want, plus try a few new things occasionally. Better than online ordering!

Cons: Maybe a little expensive.

Informative - Edit
No matter what I go in there looking for, they have knowledge about it and help me find it in the store. I have gone in with some pretty wild ideas.... And they have it! My go-to place for better living.

You can find stuff that's hard to find elsewhere. And *the best* vegan blondies anywhere.

High Prices - Edit
This store has some of the highest prices I have ever seen. I walked in once, shopped around looking at prices and walked out. I went to Better Health Food to shop. Even though their prices are high also, they do not compare to this. I never returned to this store because I was offended by the prices they expected people to pay.

A real lifesaver for vegetarians and vegans at MSU - Edit
I was a graduate student at Michigan State University for two years, and as a vegan, there were little to no on-campus dining options, save for the ubiquitous salad bar.
Read moreEnter Foods for Living. I staked out this gem my first week in East Lansing last year. A sort of scaled-down Whole Foods Market, Foods for Living offers organic, vegetarian, vegan and raw vegan foods, including boxed mixes, baking supplies, organic produce, soy, rice, and nut milks, a refrigerated section with vegan cheeze and cream cheeze, international foods, frozen dinners, and household products. Vegetarian and vegan products from local restaurants are also featured. There is an expansive bulk aisle with an assortment of trail mixes, dried fruits, nuts and nut butters, and vegan treats. Occasionally, local live music is provided, making the shopping experience more pleasant than usual.
Although a little on the pricy side, but well worth it for the selection and quality, Foods for Living has been a literal lifesaver in the two years I've spent at MSU.
Pros: Helpful staff, Special orders, Good selection
