Est. 1970. Natural foods market & vegan restaurant. Has a 1960s-1970s kind of vibe. Serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch. Has counter seating, indoor tables and a front shaded patio. The market sells a wide variety of food including packaged, frozen & refrigerated, plus a small produce section. Also sells supplements, books, gifts and health & personal care products. NOTE: market is reported to not be a 100% vegan as there are products like honey and medicine with vitamin D3 from wool. Open Mon-Sun 9:00am-9:00pm.

Longtime Gem! - Edit
I’ve been visiting Follow Your Heart Café for years, but this was my first time ordering the Nutburger, and it completely exceeded my expectations.
Read moreThe patty is incredibly flavorful with a hearty, satisfying texture that feels thoughtfully made. It’s well-seasoned, rich, and holds up beautifully without needing excessive toppings to shine.
I paired it with fries and their pickled vegetable medley, which I always recommend here. The pickled veggies add brightness and balance to the meal and really elevate the overall experience.
Follow Your Heart continues to prove why it’s a long-standing favorite in LA’s vegan scene; consistent, comforting, and rooted in real food done well. Highly recommend trying the Nutburger if you haven’t yet.

The Mac n cheese appetizer was creamy and delicious, chips with nacho cheese sauce is almost always a win in my book & the California tacos were pretty good!
Id probably try the fettuccine Alfredo if I went back and reorder the Mac and chips cheese.

I love this place and Vegenaise has long been a favorite. Best vegan pizza here and can't go wrong with most of the menu. This is one place I really miss from when I lived in Los Angeles and will be sure to visit when I go back.

There is no place like home ❤️ - Edit
FYH is more than a resturant it’s a home for every vegan. The place has been around over 50 years and if you don’t know their story, read it next time you visit. It’s on every menu. The food is excellent the ambience is old school, big portions that are made with love. We go there often, they serve brunch, lunch and dinner and you can really go wrong with whatever you order. We love this place! BTW, the place is also a vegan grocery store which is great!

Vegan options are plentiful - Edit
Update: 2024
Read moreI had to knock off a point due to FYh cafe raising prices twice within two years even prior to the CA wage hike.
In particular the pot pie is one of my favorite dishes is now over $20 and the item has shrunk down. I’ve been a long time customer of many years so I know the items well. The current pizza offering on the menu is not good and the crust was tough and nearly inedible so I don’t recommend it until they revise the recipe.
…
FYH is a historical gem in the valley for delicious vegan eats and array of unique health food products. I’ve had many memorable meals over the years and FYH has always been consistent with their delicious food offerings and great friendly service. You can’t go wrong with any item on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner and you won’t be disappointed with the variety of options. If you can’t decide, check out some of my photos as most are a selection of my favorite items. Make sure to check out the cool little gift shop and roam the aisles for hard to find treats and health food items. Just be aware that they do carry items in the aisles that are not vegan.
I would encourage having a chat with the manager if you want to question them about that.

First of all this place is a great go to grocery store all about vegan. In the back is a wonderful restaurant/cafe that I highly recommend. I just had the chicken pot pie which was perfect. The nachos were delicious too. Great friendly and helpful staff throughout. I will be here often. Especially as they allow dogs on the patio.

Best. Food. Ever! - Edit
This is my absolute favorite restaurant ever! It’s 100% vegan.
Read moreOne great thing about them is that they have both vegan “junk foods” like chilli cheese fries, chicken pot pie, and pastas, but they also have ultra healthy dishes like tofu/veggie satay with brown rice, smoothies, etc. Tons and tons of options, gluten free and S.O.S. options.
They have delicious brunch available on the weekends until 3. Their coffee is amazing and they have lots of desserts like cakes and cookies! It’s also attached to their vegan market which is also fun to shop after eating!
I love coming here any time I get the chance! My favorite dishes are the Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chickn and the Phish tacos!
Pros: Great atmosphere

A Hidden Treasure! - Edit
There is absolutely nothing to not love about this place. From the food, to the people, and to the market, this place was a great experience all around.
Read moreWe dined in for dinner and had a hard time choosing something off of the large menu (everything sounded so good) we ended up getting the Mushroom burger and the veggie Lasagna and WOW. The best burger patty we have ordered at a vegan restaurant. The sandwich itself could’ve used a little “dressing up” but it was still delicious.
We ordered a couple stuffed potatoes for carry out so we could enjoy them later. We were not disappointed eating stuffed potatoes at 8:30pm in our hotel room.
The staff were extremely friendly and very personable. After finishing our meal, we were able to walk through the market and find some great items. We will definitely be back.

Opened in 1971. A natural foods market and vegan restaurant. Has a 1960s-1970s kind of vibe. Serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and a brunch served 8:00 am - 3:00 pm on Sat & Sun. You can eat at the counter, indoor tables or the front shaded patio. The market sells a wide selection of natural foods products, snacks, supplements, books, gifts and health & personal care products. After 52 years of operation it turned fully vegan Nov '22. Open Mon-Fri 11:30am-8:30pm, Sat-Sun 9:00am-9:00pm.
recently autumn 2023 i made sacred pilgrimage to visit in person again. met the last owner, elder, he made sure i got my seasonable vegan pumpkin spiced easy-to-drink cool shake treat. the folks were kind, i shopped a few times, feasted, returned. 3 restrooms in back of store available unlocked for ALL to use conveniently. hot day, got some lemonade organic santa cruz brand the 16-ounce glass bottles that could be later traded at kreation for dollar credit each to trade for organic vegan soup. organic cereaL to go with almond milk quart i already had with me.
just anyways as always careful vegans who care ought read supplement bottles ingredients labels if you are adamant vegan in case minor ingredients issue like maybe capsules, so BYO reading glasses or magnifying glass or "cheaters" or spectacles to enable your human eyes to read tiny small print.

Real Veg History - Edit
Follow Your Heart is a historical gem that keeps evolving with the movement. I always get the Reuben with homemade veg pickles when I go and make sure to stop in the market to bring home the huge selection of vegan cheeses, dressings, and art pieces. The ladies in the next table over were eating gigantic baked potatoes with luscious vegan cheese sauce. Someone else had a huge wedge of vegan corn bread. This time we shared the beet salad with vegan feta and my daughter ordered a vegan hot dog off the children's' menu (something we never get to do because when is there anything vegan on a children's menu?). I keep scarfing before I remember to take a picture, so here are the cupcakes we brought home.
