Limited Menu & Small Portions - Edit
I was excited to learn that The Flying Biscuit offers a vegan menu, especially since vegan options in The Villages seem limited. Getting seated was quick, and they handed out remote buzzers so guests could wait outside, which was convenient. Service was also efficient and we received our food shortly after ordering. The atmosphere was pleasant overall, and the option for patio seating was a nice touch.
Read moreUnfortunately, the meal itself fell short of expectations. My tofu scramble portion was very small, served with only two Beyond sausage patties, and the plate looked noticeably empty. It also wasn’t very filling. The vegan options were minimal overall. Toast was available, but the home fries weren’t vegan-friendly since they’re cooked in the same fryer as meat products. A 10 oz glass of orange juice was priced at 5 dollars, which felt steep for the size.
Adding to the disappointment, I couldn’t enjoy coffee with my breakfast because the restaurant had no non-dairy milk available that day.
I really hope they expand and refine their vegan offerings. Even adding toast or a biscuit to the tofu scramble plate, along with options like vegan pancakes or waffles, would make a big difference. With a few upgrades, this could become a great spot for vegans in the area.

Food is amazing - Edit
They have at least 2 vegan options on their menu and about 5 more vegitarian options. I ordered the vegan tofu scramble and it was sooo good. The toast came dry but I added a side of avocado and made my own avo toast. They also have beyond sausage and some vegan collard greens. I tasted the collard greens and really liked them. Highly recommended especially in this area where vegan options at restaurants are so hard to come by.

Vegan Options - Edit
Great atmosphere, really nice to sit outside. Our server was lovely, however, she was also working behind the bar so she had too much going on! We had to ask inside for condiments and napkins. The food was ok - considering we’re in the villages, it’s nice to find any vegan options! We’d come back.

Beyond Sausage - Edit
They now have Beyond sausage. They’re more than willing to whip something up (like a very dry bfast burrito), but it’s always very bland and not good. I get fruit and potatoes when I go here to meet friends.

Tofu is bleh - Edit
I hate to even give a bad review but the one vegan option is just so salty and bad. I wish they had vegan biscuits.

Vegan breakfast in The Villages - Edit
After 3 days on the hunt for food in my Mom’s retirement community... I cannot tell you how pleased I was to go to a breakfast place (typically zero options) and find Tofu scramble on the menu with the clear “Vegan” tag. Unfortunately, food wasn’t great... but was still grateful they tried.

Terrible Tofu - Edit
The tofu dishes at this restaurant are inexplicably doused in incredibly salty hoisin. This is the first time I’ve ever sent a dish back to the kitchen. My husband had the tofu bowl, which is the same horrible tofu served hot over lettuce, instantly wilting the lettuce. Maybe the açaí bowl and avocado toast are edible, but I’ll never go back to find out.
