THE PLACE TO GO! - Edit
When ever we have guests or we want to celebrate something, Flax and Kale is our first choice. This beautiful place is great, has a wonderful garden terrace. Menu is great with loads of veg and vegan options. The cashew cream stuffed courgette flower dish is superb!

Bit meh! - Edit
I visited Flax and Kale a year back and really enjoyed the food then. This time, I wasn't impressed. My dish was bland and the table service wasn't too great. I wouldn't rush back there.

Beautiful vibe, great food - Edit
Gorgeous interior with healthy and tasty food. Very nice, well lit, tasteful atmosphere. Ordered the raw lasagne which was very nice, and some kale chips. Also bought one of the cupcakes from the front which was a little underwhelming compared to others I had had but still nice

Overpriced - Edit
Something didn't seem right when I ordered avocado toast and received it 1min after ordering it and the toast being cold and hard. My acai was average not a huge serving, defiantly better acai 5 min walk away at half the price. And nothing's worse then receiving hot frothed milk with your black tea and had to ask for sugar

Mixed feelings - Edit
A very elegant restaurant, tastfully decorated, aesthetic dishes, good service and great atmosphere, until you reach the toilets, where all the good impression spoils: the outdated toilets were dirty, not pleasant and incompatible with the restaurant concept.

5 stars vegan dining. Even if happy cow won't let us rate it that high - Edit
Some of the nicest vegan food I've had to date. It's mostly all plant based options but there are a few dishes with fish and egg. Their ethos is healthy eating which in their opinion occasionally contains these ingredients. We had the mezze and greens for starters which the mezze in particular was delicious. Then had the red curry and raw zucchini blossoms. Both of which were superb. Then for desert we had the double choc cake with ice cream and the tumeric cheese cake. Both of which were fantastic- even the cheesecake which didn't sound appealing. The place itself is very large with an upstairs and outside large balcony and we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Like I said, this place is 5 stars, happy cow just won't allow it because thet aren't at least vegetarian.

Nice and fresh, but full of its own virtue - Edit
Flax and Kale seems very hyped these days, which you can tell as you're ordering a small juice for 6€ with little other virtue than the branding. It's not organic. The dishes vary greatly, but most hold a fairly high level of quality, the food is also quite fresh and there are some interesting condiments. Overall I would say it's a good choice, with some few exceptions. My non-veggie friend, for example, thought that the grilled veg was the vegan version of revenge - a pile of tasteless peas and some sticks of asparagus, literally. The chef du jour seems to greatly affect the outcome of the dish, in my experience.

Nice atmosphere, good food - Edit
We went for breakfast to the restaurant. The atmosphere was very good but unfortunately our waitress had a bad day and wasn't very friendly. Our food and the frozen smoothies were good except my glutenfree blueberry muffin, it was to dry for my taste and the blueberrys were hard to find in it. All in all a very good place to eat healthy and good.

BEAUTIFUL cafe!!! So much seating and the decor is so pretty. Huge menu with clearly marked vegan (pb for plant based) options such as goji bowls, treats, cookies, baking, bagels, superfood bowls etc. good place to bring a group that was a mix of vegans and non vegans as there are options for everybody! I had the chia bagel and healthy mocha frappe that were amazing!!! Think I'll be going back tomorrow!

The atmosphere, the staff, the food, they all deserve a 5-star rating!! Most dishes are vegan, we had a feast and I was very full after two dishes. We picked from the weekend brunch menu and I had the Kale dream cream (soup) avocado toast Chia bagel. I was that full after half of each item I had to share it with my meat-eater boyfriend who loved it. Absolutely recommended. Cost us 68€ for 4 peeps.

Hard to find and a little disappointing - Edit
The entrance to this restaurant is in the H&M which makes it a little difficult to find. After hearing many good things about this place I was keen to check it out. I was a little disappointed that they serve fish. And all the food is pre-made and all packaged in plastic. My salad was very tasty but also very oily. I'm sad to say I won't be back.

Easily 10 stars! - Edit
Luckily my second visit to F&K. The first time 3 years ago and now tonight. There is a fabulous open air terrace with edible garden on the first floor which we were delighted to be seated at. By gosh, the second visit did not disappoint. This is easily the best vegan friendly non meat restaurant I've ever eaten at. The food is so well styled and innovative which puts it light years ahead of the competition. Service is impeccable and options clearly labelled for gluten free, vegan and flexitarians alike. We had the grilled greens, the raw lasagne and the grilled carrot cake. My dining partner had fish in his two courses and the rhubarb and strawberry tart. We also enjoyed some fresh presses juices and a bottle of organic white wine. A real treat for the tastebuds and a real treat to end a fabulous weekend in Barcelona. Can't wait to come back. Hopefully sooner than three years next time.

Great atmosphere and really friendly helpful staff! My daughter's vegan and there was a good choice for her too. Family all loved what they had! Definitely recommend! (Would give 5 stars but the app only allows 4 for places not totally veggie. )

The BEST without a doubt - Edit
If i had to choose my favourite place to eat, Flax & Kale would be it. For me the whole experiemce was mind blowing (had to visit F&K for 3 times during my 5 day stay in BCN). The atmosphere, the staff and..oh the food 😍
Read moreThis is a heaven for people who enjoy beautiful, healthy, nourishing, innovative and delicious food. F&K is the best place for having breakfast or brunch: it's nearly impossible to choose from all the mouth-watering options and you could possibly end up ordering everything from the list 😄
I tasted the bagel, avocdo toast, acaitella bowl, dragon fruit bowl, smoothie, "ice cream" dessert, snack platter, raw salad bowl, energy balls and a cupcake (not in one sitting tho) Everything was absolutely delicious!
I highly recommend F&K for all the health nuts who want to dive in the world of fresh and delicious flavours. I'll be back for sure 🌸🌟💕
Pros: Lot of vegan options, Delicious food, Big portions
Cons: Not 100% vegan

Vegan sorcery - the one item you should try! - Edit
Okay so I've been to this place a few times: nice healthy food, great atmosphere.
Read moreSome items are okay (carotene ravioli), some are really "meh" (kinda dry cookie, chocolate cake) but some are AMAZING: the pear and chocolate muffin which is very rich AND ESPECIALLY the "GRILLED GREENS" from the nibbles/entrees section of the menu... I didn't expect much of it when ordering - being french I didn't even realize what butifarra vegana meant, but as soon as I tasted it I knew it was what I know as "boudin noir" (black pudding if you're british)... I don't know how they do it but the taste is SO similar to the real thing ! and it comes with delicious peas and asparagus, mint... so yummy !
If you were ever a fan of butifarra negra / boudin boir / black pudding, you HAVE to order this dish your mind will be blown.
