Delicious gluten free vegan Indian takeaway - Edit
Took a night off on 8/16 from cooking and decided to try a place I had never heard of before because it was near where I used to go when visiting my mental health doctor
Read more'▪︎Bagare Baigan (Fresh okra stir fried with bell pepper ,onion, herbs and spices)
▪︎Bhindi Masala (fried baby eggplant and cooking it with roasted peanut and sesame and coconut)
▪︎Punjabi Chana Masala (chickpeas cooked in an onion ,tomatoes, and herbs)
all mild in the flavor department since it's my first time in having Indian takeaway...😏😏😏😏 Punjabi Chana Masala had a bit of spice to it even though it was supposed to be mild, which I didn't really mind....
Very helpful, friendly staff and were able to help me with understanding how they did the baby eggplant one since I have a wheat allergy and avoid things that contain wheat...
Definitely will return... Thanks again for the delicious food
Pros: Simply awesome and delicious , Helpful , Flavor packed

Absolutely delicious - Edit
What a pleasant surprise to find really excellent vegan food in such an unassuming location. We had the aloo gobi and the vegetable Madras. Both were delicious. Dinner salad was huge. Service was great. Will definitely return next time in town.

A whole vegan menu!! - Edit
🇮🇳 🥗 “Flavors of India” restaurant located in Port Charlotte, Florida served us an exquisite 5 course VEGAN lunch!! They offer a large lunch buffet but also have a full menu to order from including A FULL VEGAN MENU!! Pictured here are the 5 meals we were served with each one featuring a different base vegetable: 1) Mushroom 2) Eggplant 3) Cauliflower 4) Okra 5) Chikpeas. They also have vegan bread options and serve their meals with HUGE bowls of rice. Their Flavors are Bold & Delicious. Their staff is Friendly & Informative. If you’re traveling through southwest Florida I highly recommend a visit to Flavors of India. Their prices are lower than standard American restaurants and their meals are healthier. Win/win!

Average Indian food, restrooms need attention - Edit
Our second time having lunch at Flavors of India. We met a friend and together we ordered (3) vegan entrees and (2) appetizers. Wanted to have some to take home. Portions were generous and the spice level we ordered was good for us, however, a couple of the dishes were swimming in added oil. We were very disappointed by that. But overall, the food and service were good.
Read moreOther part of experience was not so good. When visiting the women’s restroom, I found it to be rather disgusting. It did not look clean, trash was overflowing and paper towels were just being thrown on top of the trash canister. The toilet paper roll was almost empty with no replacement in site, and there were (3) soap dispensers on the wall by the sink and none worked. A bottle of hand soap was placed on the sink. I told one of the servers about the toilet paper, and at least he took in another roll. But instead of replacing the roll on the spool, he just set it on top of the holder. How much more effort would it have taken to actually replace the toilet paper on the spool?
This is unacceptable in my opinion and always makes me worried then about the cleanliness of the kitchen. Not sure we will be returning.

Lots of options - Edit
I wasn’t expecting to find many vegan options in Port Charlotte, due to my preconceived notions of the area. However, finding Flavors of India was a nice surprise. Indian cuisine is among my favorite, and I always try to get some if there’s a restaurant nearby. What set Flavors of India apart for me was the clearly labeled vegan section of the menu. In addition, they even volunteer to make vegan naan (no butter) on the menu. The food was really great and I felt spoiled for choice. I had the naan and Channa Masala, and I would highly recommend it! I would definitely come back if I’m in Port Charlotte again.

Good Vegan Selections - Edit
My wife and I had two Vegan selections and both were a little skimpy on the amount of sauce. Both were quite tasty, but vegetables cut a little smaller and more sauce would of made the meal much more enjoyable. #Veganuary

I'm Angry...that I haven't bought their food before! - Edit
Though I love Indian food, one issue I've had with some Indian restaurants was the amount of oil used in the food preparation. When I happened on the information that Flavors of India would prepare my food, from their Vegan Specialties menu section, with no salt and no oil at my request, I had to give it a try. I got Kadai Eggplant and Aloo Gobi Masala, and my only regret is that I ordered it "mild" (a habit learned after occasionally painful experiences at other unfamiliar Indian restaurants before I knew their default spice level). Though the dishes were very flavorful, next time I'll take it up a notch to get where I want it. But otherwise - GREAT! I'll definitely be a repeat customer - maybe I'll see you there!

As soon as I asked if they had vegan options on the buffet they asked if we would like roti (vegan friendly bread) made fresh for us. They had multiple vegan options on the buffet and even host all vegan buffets sometimes. The food was yummy. They even made us appam! The menu has a dedicated vegan section.
