Serves meat, vegan options available. Part of chain restaurant offering Mongolian stir-fry meals. The main feature is the create-your-own-stirfry bar where you choose the veggies and even faux meat (vegan except Quorn), and have it stir-fried. Most sauces are vegan, and there is a chart showing which are. Ask the staff to cook your dish separately.

Great Asian Food

We came here today, all fourteen of us, after church, and were amazed at how accommodating they were. I had a delicious Kung Pao stir fry with seitan. Yummy!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Affordable, Able to accommodate large groups

Great Vegan Options

You could honestly make any of this at home.. But it's nice not to. Interesting options and different styles to make things. (A better Mongolian BBQ)

Good Food, but the Food Area was a Mess

We arrived around 7:30 pm when only one side of the food area was open (they open both sides during busier times). Food was everywhere, with ingredients cross-contaminating and sauces spilling everywhere. Regardless, the staff was helpful and informative about the process, and we left satisfied and full, having paid the extra $4 for unlimited portions. Even our friend who dined with us and who was horrified by the food area (she’s currently taking a food safety course) was pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the food. It’s easy to communicate food allergies (including vegan) so that your food is cooked in an area separate from others.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Vegan food cooked separately, Friendly, helpful staff

Cons: Cross contamination of foods, Messy

Terrific Mainstream Option!

Super place to go when you're in "mixed" company (meaning vegetarians, omnivores, vegans, etc). Everyone will be perfectly happy!

Also, you can ask for their ingredients book if you'd like to know exactly what's in all those sauces.

Would have given 5 cows but not allowed since it's only rated veg-friendly.

Pros: Variety / flexibility, Brown rice, Freshness

The Mongols' Tofu Raid!

Ah, Flat Top! Every time we're in Fort Wayne, we usually make it a point to go here. As far as I can know, there's no other chain in the states, doing Mongolian-style grills, that has such a plethora of faux-meat/protein options. The options include: Quron (contains eggs), Veat (not too well-known, but delicious!), Seitan (of course!), Tempeh (yum!), and Curry Pakora, a vegetable version of an Indian snack. Tofu can be added by using one of the colored sticks when taking your bowl up to be grilled. Also add the 'allergy stick' so your bowl will be cooked on a separate, clean grill.

The magic of Flat Top is how diverse the choices are. The sauces are labeled as vegan or not, and the wealth of vegetable options allows even a health-conscious vegan to eat well. Brown and white rice are also available. None of the desserts are vegan, unfortunately. Still, this place is excellent for the veggie and omnivore dining experience. It's a little pricey for the all-you-can eat bowl, but worth it after loading up on unlimited seitan, Veat, and tempeh amidst fresh veggies (and even some fruit - pineapples, etc.)

We've never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table, and the staff are usually very friendly and helpful, willing to offer sauce pairings for your bowl and look up ingredients if you ask. Only being open until 10:00pm on weekends is a little early in my opinion, but so be it. The availability of such good vegan fare in a town like Fort Wayne is worth some planning.

Pros: faux meat!, selection, vegan-friendly

Cons: hours
